Apart from the mess it leaves on your wheel having the lube fling off aint a bad thing. As it goes itll also take grit etc with it. Just make sure you do lube it often tho, cos you dont want it buggereing up like mine did and havng the teeth of the front sprocket. ____________________ BCF: Be yourself, just don't be an arse. |

Well the guy I bought the bike off managed to wear the chain down in one year and he only did 3000 miles in that year. So I have to replace the chain and the sprockets My sprockets are so pointy that you could use them as those ninja Frisbee weapons |

Best 2-stroke oil I've found is Mobil 1 2-stroke racing oil. Available at most Esso petrol stations
Worst oil I've tried is Halfords 2-stroke not good ____________________ NSR125RR - ZXR750H1 - ZX9R E1 - GSF600S - GSF600SK3 - VFR400-NC30 - SV1000N - ST1100-R - CBR900RR-R - GSF1200SK5 - GSF600SK1 - VFR1200FA - GSXR1000K2 - ZZR1400 D8F

Right
So all of you that own NSR's or did own, what oil do you guys use
Input from non-NSR drivers is still welcomed
Oh another quick question, i currently am using the Castrol scooter oil which is semi-synth, is it all right to pour in the TTS (fully-synth) with the old oil still inside |

Hi
I tend to use Comp 2 on the RS125, which some claim isnt a proper fully synthetic 2 squeak oil (I think it claims to be synthetic based).
The time I got the best ever top speed out of the RS was running on TTS. Whether that had anything to do with it or not I am not sure.
If you use better oils then the engine will last longer. On my old AF1 Futura I used semi synthetic oils. When I sold it the engine needed new main bearings (they would have lasted another couple of thousand km), and the RS has already lasted longer without the mains going. However, looking at it one way the savings on 2 stroke oil probably paid for the main bearings (I traded the bike into a dealer, and part of the deal was I dropped the engine out and took it into him, and he did the main bearings, then I put the engine back in again).
As to what engines the 2 squeak oils are intended for, I dont think the engine size is that important. More the state of tune and the specs of the various parts of the engine. The RS is putting out something like 230bhp/l, which is a fairly high state of tune
All the best

Speaking of running the oil dry, i did that once
The first day i took it into college, i go 2 drive home(this was that thrusday with all the snow a month back) and the thing keeps dying so i kept the revs up and drove away only got 200m and flooded the engine. I thought i was a sign from the Gods not to drive in this snow storm.
I picked it up in the morning when the low oil light finaly came on.
I think they should re-name that light as the 'you've already run out of oil 200m down the road' light
Anyway i supose the moral of the story is check the bike over esp oil when you've just bought it.
So far i have not noticed any ill effects from doing that, so far
