Fook me that was close, bet the cyclist shat it!
Always give those fookers space incase they swerve out, unless the biker never seen him? Can happen..... ____________________ Old bikes >>> https://www.bikepics.com/members/cc123/ |

Got to add to the above comments, that IMHO while cyclists and Horses do not pay road Tax they should always give priority to Tax paying vehicles. What annoys me is when local cycle clubs think that if they stick up a couple of "cycle race" signs all of a sudden they have the right to ride 4-5 abreast and can ignore all the road rules, It also seems to give them the right to hurl abuse at any motorist who actually dares to use that road at the time.

Cyclists annoy me when they are in groups of 30 deciding to block the entire lane with a car behind them making it impossible to pass them because they're on fun twisty roads. ____________________ Go back to bed - You have no rights - "Streetfighters ~ Mainstream motorcycling's crackwhore sister." |

Sorry all you anti-bike/horse gits.
But pedestrians and horses were here 1st.
Why don't we ban all those dic*ks that ride cars/bikes too fast/close past pedestrians and horses?
They should pay tax..... ____________________ W-ireless A-rtificial L-ifeform L-imited to O-bservation P-eacekeeping and E-fficient R-epair |

That rider was being dangerous, cyclists shouldnt be banned at all. Using them in the countryside is a little risky, as people often forget about them on b-roads, and a-roads for that matter. i'd recommend cyclists to use lights during the day, most motorcyclists do, and it doesn't do any harm.

I Ride mountain bikes alot (average about 70-100 miles a week, far higher if im off work, and this is on a downhill bike!) I personally NEVER ride on the road unless really forced to. Its bloody dangerous! Even if the car drivers are paying any attention they dont know what you are going to do, but 90% of car drivers just dont take any notice of us!
/edit:

Your mates talking shite! It is definately illegal, and very stupid.

Thats also stupid, and gets on my nerves 'cos it gives us all a bad name. Same theory as the sunday power rangers getting everyone with a motorbike a bad name. ____________________ I love the girls that do, I hate the girls that dont, I hate the girls who say they will and then they say they wont, but the girl I like most of all and I think youll say Im right, is the girl who says she never has but looks as though she might. - Max Bygraves |

And Highway code says:
53: You MUST NOT
carry a passenger unless your cycle has been built or adapted to carry one
hold on to a moving vehicle or trailer
ride in a dangerous, careless or inconsiderate manner
ride when under the influence of drink or drugs.
