Thats the way the lights are on my bike, since I bought it? When i switch full beams on, the other light comes on instead? Both lights are never on at once...

any bike with twin front lights is like that as standard, by law I think.... the argument being that at night if both little lamps are on, a car driver waiting to pull out could think he was seeing a car thats a long way away, if that makes sense....

still, alot of people get them wired to come on at the same time, jsut for looks.

Sorry bud but you're wrong. If you have a twin headlight bike with twin element bulbs only one is required to be lit on dipped beam but both should be lit on high beam. Check the amount of filaments in your headlight, if it has two they should both light up, one on dipped one on main.

There are a lot of bikes that both headlights come on on low beam as well as high, I own four bikes that do this as standard.

In recent years there has been a shift to lower power lighting with better quality reflectors as well as a shift to only one headlight lit on low beam. The reason for this is to lower the demands on the bikes alternator which means less drag and thus more power and MPG.

bikes of a certain age only have one light on at a time.
newer bikes have both on when full beam

nothing wrong with his bike its just the eu rules at the time which were later revised
