My smallest brother trotted round to mine this afternoon, complaining of being bored. I've had the Fazer for a year and never taken anyone on it. Reasoning that my parents have 5 kids, and in the event of a mishap probably wouldn't miss the smallest one, I took him for a quick spin on the beast.
I took it easy because we were both new at it, and he didn't have any safety gear beyond a helmet and sturdy gloves. I didn't wear my armoured jacket in sympathy, and to remind me to take it slowly!
I can see why people enjoy it, but is it normal to panic so much for the safety of your fellow rider?! At one point, he shifted his position to something more comfortable, but it felt to me like he was about to fall off! He then complained that I had slowed down too much, and that we weren't going round enough corners! This from a 13yr old who claims he can't even ride a push bike!
Looks like he might well turn out to be another victim of the biking bug, my mother will probably never forgive me! ____________________ >Soultrader Mister James, I bet you are a copper

Hehe!
I took a friend on my GS500E a few years back, he'd never been on a bike before too.
He got hooked and bought himself a CG125 then and now he's got a bigger bike than me! |

Ive been a passenger before once it was on a CBR600 F, I was the first person the guy had ever taken out and i loved it. I was bricking it to start with, felt like i was holding on for dear life but it began to get easier after a while and i told him to speed up.
He then began to take over others, I loved it.
I ride a NSR125 R and i fink that i loved it so much becoz it was the fasted ive ever bene in my life. Was such a thrill.
I can see where your lito bro is coming from, once your comfortable it becomes a lot easier and better.

Ive only recently passed my test and only recently taken someone on the back. I was a bit nervous, but my pillion rides bikes and is used to going pillion as he has been without a bike for some time and goes on the back of his mates bike.
It felt different from how i expected but not too bad. He was a good pillion except for once leaning in a corner earlier than i would cos hes used to riding.
At some point i hope to get my girlfriend on the back and anyone who wants to sell a medium helmet for £15 including p&p let me know. Unfortunately she screamed when I managed to get her on the back and started the engine. I thought she wd calm down and get used to it, but she started crying so i had to let her off. We didnt actually move but i did feel guilty and i may have set the cause back a bit by rushing things. ____________________ colin1 is officially faster than god |

The first time I was pillion, I was 11, on the back of my step=dads superdream. It was at once the scariest thing, and the best thing I'd ever done.
A couple of weeks later, I got to ride some little rev and go peds, on a tiny circuit - believe it or not, I think it might have been at Bognor Regis Butlins. |

I'm a nervous passenger in/on any vehicle, i've only ever gone pillion on my brothers bikes because i trust him not to kill me.
Got the missus on the back the other day, hadn't even got out of first and she was screaming and tapping me to slow down.
In general i think other bikers make the best pillions/pavillions/marquees, as they are more used to the forces involved and don't tend to suddenly move mid-corner. ____________________ Space Monkey #7
