AFAIK if indicators are fitted they should be in good working order, but I don't think it's a requirement to have them as they are not the only way of signalling a change of direction. ____________________ https://www.bikepics.com/members/fuzzbcf/

If the bike was designed for offroad use i.e motocross, trackdays then you DON'T need indicators for the MOT. You don't need mirrors either!
The only time you'll really miss indicators is when turning right at a roundabout, oncoming traffic wont stop for you so you'll have to plan a route with no roundabouts or take chances, TBH I'd get it sorted with some indicators. ____________________ 2012 KTM EXC 250

I can assure you that you do not need mirrors for an MOT. Not sure if a 'daylight only' MOT actually exists as such any more.
Here are the vehicles exempt from indiactors according to the testers manual:
| Quote: | This inspection applies to: all machines except those which either have no front or rear position lamps or have such lamps permanently disconnected, painted over or masked that are:
. only used during daylight hours, and
. not used at times of seriously reduced visibility
If this situation occurs the machine presenter should be issued with an advisory notice recording the above and it should also be recorded on the carbon copy of the VT20. |
| Quote: | If direction indicators are fitted they must meet the requirements of this inspection, but need not be fitted to a machine which:
. cannot exceed 30mph / 50kph, or
. was first used before 1 August 1986, or
. 'off road' machines which are designed
to carry only the rider.
. 'off road' machines with side car designed to carry the rider and one passenger in the side car.
off road machines are constructed or adapted primarily for use off roads (whether by reason of its tyres, suspension, ground clearance or otherwise). |

You're going to buy that triumph aren't you ya dumb bastard. Lets see if they give it an MOT when you turn up and have to lean it against the wall to park it. |

the funny thing is, its actually gonna be more tricky to get an mot for the speed four (unfaired tt600) as it doesnt come with a legal can but the race tt600 has both.
The seller of the speed four reckons I could get a triumph dealer to lend me a legal can for an mot but my local triumph dealer doesnt do mots.
I have no problem leaning a bike against a wall as i did it for months with my rs125.
Dont call me a dumb bastard u ignorant prick. ____________________ colin1 is officially faster than god |
