I'm trying to sort everything out and learn stuff myself, but I just thought I'd run things by you guys just for peace of mind:
The bike is at about 6300 miles and I'm thinking it should go in for a service. I'm not willing to spend a daft amount of money to get everything done if I might be able to have a stab at it, so I have it to this:
================
Clean out and lube:
Clutch lever holder
Side stand pivot and spring hook
Drive chain
Brake level holder
Throttle cable
Brake pedal pivot
Check the following:
Spark Plug
Chain and Sprockets [will probably clean them all up]
Engine Oil [Will replace anyway]
Oil Filter [Again, might as well replace]
Air filter [Will clean it out or change it depending on condition]
Drive Chain
===============
The only thing I think I'm missing [beyond tire pressures etc which are fine anyway] is a good old valve clearance. The only real question I have is how much is all this likely to cost me, as I have no oil of any sort whatsoever? and how much for the service? I'm only looking for rough estimates, natch
Cheers for any relpies, guys

Oil even cheaper then. I'd just get normal engine oil from the garage. I'm fairly sure the oil filter will be a metal gauze too which will just need cleaning in a solvent (eg petrol). ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink.
