Sounds like you got a nice 125! Look after it, and run it on good quality oil, and you should have alot of fun!

15,000 miles?! Has it ever been rebuilt? Sounds good though! Im not good with plate numbers, what year is an "R" reg? So how much did you pay for it? Details, details!

Dont worry about being road legal until December, im not till end of January, im just trying to get in as much practice as possible. Good luck on your CBT Thumbs Up

I soo badly wanted a gixxer, but dad wants me on summin non sporty to start with, then get into sports bikes later on. Sad Smile

R reg is 97 / 98. Dont think its been rebuilt, Been standing a 2 / 3 years, needed a new master cylinder as it siezed up, so my boss had changed it. Its runnign fine. Book price is £1600 (with an average of 20k miles) Boss wanted £1550 if he sold it in the shop, but gave me it for £1200 Very Happy

Ill be runnign it on very good oil, no need to worry about that Smile
and ive done my CBT, its just i need to turn 17 to ride a 125 Thumbs Down

i know the engine isnt as fragile as my RS but even with the best oil with the help of a good rag they go bag, my RS did at 100mph (on a stright though)

get some pics! i thought about getting a DT125 before i got a RS, look nice i think

You paid £1200 for a 15k (9375 miles) DT?! You paid too much.

Still, keep it safe, or it will go walkies. Rolling Eyes

I got a KMX200, (on my 2nd one now) so i know what fun trailie's can be. If it's done 15'000m it might be worth checking the piston and rings, but id see how well it runs first. My kmx has managed 20'000m before shattering the piston into bits, and scoring the bore. As always with strokers it's far cheaper to re-build a running engine, than it is to sort it out once it's blown up/seized.
And yes the best bit of advice is buy the biggest toughest lock you can afford, and then buy a few more too! Bikes like these are very likely to get nicked, probably more so than anything bar scooters really.
