I quite like it. Wouldn't get one but I have contemplated it. I believe it is out this month, and the ABS version is out in December.

I'm not sure about the looks.... I get the feeling though that it might be one of those bikes that looks alot better in real life than on paper...

Still, I wouldn't buy one. I don't like the idea, I don't like parallel twins, too boring and lumpy... that combined with the fact that they still used the ER naming makes me think that the bike is only a tiny step up from a 500 commuter.

But I think its a brave idea and I like some of the styling touches.

I'll be interested to see how they ride on track, as they will be elligible for the series I race in (minitwins).

So far can only really give thoughts on looks or regurgitate what mags have said.

I'd prefer to save myself some money and buy a GPZ or ER-5. Or even an SV650. The same but cheaper due to being second-hand already.

From what i have been told, it's not a suped up ER 5 engine. It's a ZX400 engine apparently. The only thing i don't like about the faired version, where the exhaust meets the fairing, it kind of looks like it's broken and sagged down. Not bad for £4,500 though

Thumbs Up FWIW I like.
Will wait until they've been around for a bit to make sure the niggles get found and fixes made. Then would consider one if I need a little runaround.

The naked version is pretty nice, but i'd rip the clocks and lights off before putting a mile on the glock, then replace the lights with twin spots. Either that or i'd buy the faired version.

The general opinion from the media seems to be that they're a nice budget bike, but up close, you can tell it's budget. I think it might put a dent in suzuki's sale of Bandit and SV 650s

Wasn't that what was said about the Bandit? Doesn't seem to have done that much harm.

Laughing Laughing Laughing

MAP - This is in direct competition with the sv and perhaps the bandit. Hornet nah, I don't think Honda have anything to fear if buyers have any sense. It's much quicker (said having a hornet and looking at the er6n's specs) than the er and the hornet always has reputation and a bit of a following Wink

And the 2005 hornet in organe with bellypan fitted? Bloody wet dream material. Wink

The faired version is very attractive, but it looks far to busy and bitty above the exhaust, behind the main fairing. The unfaired one is a bit dodgy looking up top. Dark red frame with matt black plastics? Very cool. Thumbs Up Cool

I like the unfaired version much more, I think the faired is trying to be something its not, besides if you buy a budget 600 you don't want extra plastics to break and I bet the fairing puts it up an insurance group as well.

i like both naked and faired, nice to see a bike that might be used a lot by commuters that doesnt shout "practical before looks" that what i think though as some comuter bikes look really boring, hope it does well would like to see these around on the road, wouldnt get one myself as not what i want in a bike

Very good point, I think too many people are looking at this thing as a supersport.

I'd still get the faired version though. Laughing

I think it's a lovely bike, got some great styling, but unfortunately someone has hit the front end with an ugly stick.

I am considering getting the silver and red naked version. Mainly just for commuting and to have something to see me through my 2 year 33bhp restriction after my test on Nov 9th. It's not a big powerful sports bike, but that isn't what i need or can afford at the moment as far as insurance goes. I do like bikes that are a little different and stylish. So for me it's pretty much perfect for what i need at the moment. The accessories are a mini indicater set for the back and a front screen. It actually looks a lot better with the screen on the front covering the clocks.
