i'm not sure wether to go for third party as its always locked up in a safe garage with an immobiliser, chain, alarm and disc lock. you'd need 12 guys with arms like popeye to lift the fat heffor into a van. I wont be leaving it out of site in non public places and its worth about 200 quid!! if i had tpft and it was stolen i wouldnt claim even then because insurance would go up. The bikes worth naff all really I can pick up a nice one for 400/500 quid readily on ebay or through the club.
1980 cx500 zero ncb:
- third party is £116.11
- tpft is £175.40
- fully comp is £506.25
really good online quote from here :

125's more readily grow legs and go walkies aswell dont they I suppose, lift a 125 with 2 (maybe 3) people into a van and can be used offroad. My bike is rediculously top heavy no chance of someone getting that into a van. ____________________ -=[Sam/b]=- cx500's the only way to travel, we do it in style just like jimmy saville

Not with a chain and disc lock to immobilse the wheels I wouldn't imagine, a ramp would do them no good. It's about 30% more top heavy than the average 500 road bike. ____________________ -=[Sam/b]=- cx500's the only way to travel, we do it in style just like jimmy saville

I've got the XJR on fully comp, but the Zephyr is third party only.
I only take the Zeph out every 2 or 3 weeks to keep her roadworthy and to have a bit of fun. I initially got the 3rd party only insurance to go to a Zephyr meet just after I bought the XJR and have carried it on.
I use e-bike insurance and pay £10 a month, with 0 ncd. (£3 of this is admin charge!)
I can stop the insurance at any time. It's monthly pay as you go.
The Zeph is chained up in the garage and I just hope that she doesn't get nicked or flamed.
I put her value at £800 for insurance (but to me she is closer to £1000)
For a cheap bike or 2nd bike I'm happy to go 3rd party only. ____________________ Fly away on my Zephyr?
I bloody wish. |
