Posted: 23:14 - 22 Oct 2005 Post subject: CG Fairing Project. Finished! |
 |
|
Thought id post this if any one else has some info or advice about this idea. From my good friend Ebay managed to get a front fairing of a Kawasaki AR 125cc, Cheap as dammaged corner and some minor cracks, Otherwise screen and rest ok.
Decided to try to fit to the bike for two reasons 1. to improve how it looks its a naked bike so wont hurt to try and also to 2. stop my alarm keyfob getting a soaking!
Any way The light front panel is exacty the same on the cg, the square headlight type. Will need some slight removal from the internal screen ledge and corders BUT looks the part. Il keep some updates of how its going as i get it done. Just thought other cg owners would be intrested...O and fitted also crash bars. Which do look ok.

OK, Update. Fairing repaired and fixed to the front still to be primed and sprayed but fits perfect. had to remove the plastc tray insert under the fairing screen and trim about an inch of the corners to avoid it hitting the tank on full lock.
Existing brackets used to secure it to the front head light bolts with 2 home made L shaped brackets, made out of aliminum strips from B&Q £2.30. Paint is going to cost £18 cheaper from bikepaint.co.uk Others wanted £35 . Il post a pic tomorow. ____________________ YAMAHA YZF 1000cc THUNDERACE- 'ƃuıןןǝds ʇnoqɐ ʇıɥs ɐ ǝʌıƃ ʇuop ı |

Hey mate,
Was that fairing easy to fit? That's for posting this up I've been wanting to do this for ages! What advantages does the fairing give you?
If you could give me more details I'd be chuffed! |
