Haven't done a poll in a while, one seems appropriate for this one:

Do you consider yourself a 'biker': Through getting a bike you joined a group, having a bike makes you similar to that group and different people who do not have a bike. 'Bikers' are part of something and as 'bikers' you are 'linked' to each other in some way.

or

You're someone who likes bikes, a hobby if you will: they're fun and relatively cheap; you don't buy into a lifestyle and you don't really think that having a bike 'links' you in any real way to someone else who has a bike (most are probably idiots but some are hopefully nice).

I understand, like always, there is a middle ground but feel that you'll probably be more one way than the other.

I like bikes, I like going fast, I like the acceleration. At the moment it is my only form of transport, and I use it for commuting. Even if I had a car I would like to have a bike also though. Would like to do a track day at some time too. Whether that makes me a biker or not I don't know?!

After riding to work this morning, in the pi$$ing down rain & coldness, but still enjoying it, I decided... I'm not a sunday rider... I'm a biker! Thumbs Up

...or something like that anyway.

Biking is pure fun and enjoyment to me.

Am I biker? I dunno, although I do think (to a point) you're inextricably linked to the biking fraternity as soon as you sling your leg over one and start riding. I suppose I'm just a bloke that enjoys the thrill and excitement that riding a bike gives me, if that makes me a 'biker' fine, if it doesn't I couldn't really give a toss.

I ride sport bikes, I like the speed that a future bike would offer. I do not wear leather waistcoats or listen to old metal. Or ride a chopper or ride in big groups.

Given the choice betwen fast bike and fast car I would choose a fast car. Am I a biker? Nope for the above reasons, however when I had a bike a few months ago it was a commuting and mess about type issue.

Never a biker, just like bikes.

Biker for sure.

There is something completely different about pulling up next to a bike at the lights, a connection, that just doesn't exist with a car.
Whilst you may have nothing in common with that person in terms of personality, and you may never cross their path again in your life, for that few seconds that you're next to them there is a comradery, an unexplainable togetherness, almost a mutual understanding.

The same applies when passing a bike going the other way, pulling up next to a bike at the gas station, whatever.

Sure there are some right ****s that don't fit into this category, but overall there is some sort of connection with most bikers I meet. Even if it's only for a second or two, as we give each other a quick nod. Compare that to car drivers who basically don't give a damn about each other, and treat other vehicles as something in their way, that slows them down from reaching their destination.

Me too...but always wanted a bike anyway, just never seemed to be a right time to do it. You're nowhere near your midlife crisis lol...give it another few years Laughing

I do live a life style based around bikes.

However that life style is often very different from a lot of other people that call themselves 'bikers'.

So am I still a 'biker'?
Do I infact have more in common with that Kit car driver than the cruiser riders?

biker, my life is based around it (how i get everywhere and ride alot as home is 25miles away from where i spend 70% my time)

people at college think of me as the biker and ask me if they have want a answer to a biking question and at least 80% what i earn is going on bike/fuel/oil atm

BIKER from start to finish!!!!!! Very Happy

Its soo much fun that ive come to terms with the fact that for this much fun the only consequence is death or serious injury if u get hit or fall and for that amount of fun to be had on a bike those conseqences are not high enough, or am i just bit mad for saying that? Confused
