daytona 675, what colour?

buying one, cant decide on the colour...

heres what im thinking....

Daytona red....very bold, very bright, but its just flat red...

Scorched yellow.....looks pasty under some lights, looks stunning under the right light (eg evening sun), most recognisable Triumph colour, makes the nose look more "animal" than the others......

Graphite....cool, stylish, industrial, purposeful look, most exclusive......but its just a bit......grey.

ive always worn grey/black one piece leathers and bike gear, though my helmet is purple Wink

never been into looking like a power ranger Laughing

i just cant make up me mind, and i need to before i put my deposit on!

Red just tends to fade eventually and the graphite although nice is a bit dull looking, wont stand out in the crowd. Well thats my opinion anyway and I am sticking to it Thumbs Up

I'd say get the red, then later if you get carbon fibre it'll look extremely good! Also the red looks... FAST! I'm sure the girls will love it!

The front of it looks like the ZX6R and the back a CBR600RR. This is not a bad thing because they are both good looking bikes, but hardly qualifies it for iconic status. The 916 however was original and incredibly nice to look at.

Bet that June delivery date is a killer to wait for? It would do my head in.

well ive got my test ride booked at least. ive always been hooked of fast 2-strokes (seventeen years of the bloody things!) and never been impressed with any of the inline fours that ive ridden. sure they are fast, but they lack the punch of a stroker, and they have no soul. ive ridden a few twins, and they have the punch and character but lack the revs.....im hoping that the triumph will give the best of both.

i didnt mean to say it is as iconic as a 916, only that if its as good as it looks and they say it is, it dererves to be up there with the best. im sure it will have a prominent place in biking history.

guess i'll find out on my test ride!

In addition, I sat on one at the NEC yesterday, and it was OK, but had a REALLY REALLY Head down riding position. Much worse than my old Daytona 955i.

The Ducati sportclassic paul smart rep had a similar riding position, and would probably suit my riding better, however its too shiney for trackdays and not comfortable enough for long rides.

Hmm... bit like the 675 then! Smile

Don't get me wrong, my heart says that it wants a 675, but the practicalities outweigh that for the following reasons:

it costs £7k

I might drop a very beautiful bike

I might crash a very expensive bike (as many people have done on here - particularly those who went out and bought 600RRs...)

my TT600 is |.| that much off in terms of performance (especially with me as the rider Wink

)

I'd worry about it getting nicked all the time

The TT600 is more comfy and actually a lot more practical.

I could buy lots of fun two strokes with the money... Very Happy

Maybe in a couple of years when the second hand prices are more reasonable. As I said, I do like it but can't justify spending that amount of money, particularly on a rareish brand new bike that is as fragile as any other sportsbike.

I don't like red bikes (even though I've owned about 4 of them now), but have to say I prefer them over the yellow or grey. (whoops, sorry graphite)

I normally hate yellow but that bike looks good in it. But I still say graphite.

It's not "British" as such G. Yes it has been assembled in the UK but the frame is manufactured abroad by Triumph, the suspension and brakes are from abroad, and no doubt the majority of other components are from abroad too.

Treat it like another bike, nothing more nothing less. It will be as good as the others and IMHO looks just as similar to all the others, not having seen one in the flesh. I can see big similarties between it and otehr bikes, ZX6R front, CBR tail.

Looks nice, but it's another bike sports bike designed to go 0.000009111mph faster than the last (which the owner will never do as they dont want to scratch it Rolling Eyes

), nothing more.

Edit: Forgot to answer the question.

Buy the one you will want to get scratched the least. Thumbs Up

Yellow, graphate wouldnt look that great after a couple of years i think but thats just my my views. it could do but id still have it in yellow! Thumbs Up

although agree the red with lots of carbon fibre would look very nice
