Well, if i pass my test tomorow, soon after the bike gets wrote off i shall be looking for the above bike, id love Mcjams, but dont have the money just yet.
Basicly im looking for some info on these bikes, stuff like it not having a fuel gauge or idiot light, what are the common problems with these?
Pros, cons, ect..

are they good for street riding, wheeling and dicking around? or will it kill me at the first attempt?
Also whats the insurance group? are they expencive to insure at a young age (17 - 18)

am looking to get one soon too, ebikeinsurance quoted me 1355 at 18. the rest are all well over 2000. not bad really.

im in same position as you (cept i passed and selling my bike to fund a bigger one) and a 600 sports i looked at but is a LOT of insurance ~£1000TPO was the sort of prices people were saying that did get 600's at young age, ive decided to do for a 650 twin or a sports 400 but probably go for a SV650 as not as big step up and much more friendly on insurance, i could of afford the insurance but woudl ahve been so much of my money so dont see the point, as only part time as still at college.

why not look at something a bit more insurance friendly?

Steve - I just got one.

Highly recommend one. They seem, to me, to be the most user friendly sports 600 of the bunch (perhaps the cbr600 is the same), it doesn't seem as aggressively styled as the rest but definetely has the engine power there.

~2000 - 2001 models, they always won in the 600 sportsbike tests in magazines compared to the likes of cbr600, thundercat, r6, gsxr's and what not.

They can do what you want to I guess, wheelying, yes, street riding, of course, the seating position is relateively comfortable.

Insurance group 14 so insurance can be high (21, 1ncb, and its £434 TPFT for me)

No fuel light, just a fuel tap (trust me, you get used to it, you don't need a gauge) Common problems being cam chain tensioners going around the 10k mile mark, and the G & J models break up quite easily if in a crash (so I hear).

im living in london and 1300 at 18 don't seem to bad. thats for TPO on a 99 model.

Didnt say you had one instigator, cheers for the replys, Is the gear boxes all the same on the kwaks? i,e clunky as the rest.

not botherd about fual gauge, as i dont have one.

I had the J2 model, got it when i was 17. Insurance was expensive at £1,300 TPO and over £2k for FC. Luckly i didn't have to fund that cost though.

They are very fast only when you want them to be. The power is very useable. They wheelie nicely both restricted and unrestricted. (my avatar is a 33bhp wheelie)

Only thing with the pre2003 zx6r models is that they are quite big and bulky. It was good for me as i'm 6'4 however.

Very easy to KD and scrape the pegs inc 2 up. Generally a wicked bike.

You can pick them up dirt cheap too. My mate bought his N Reg (1995?) for about £1,700 with 12,000 miles.

Yeah, they are some good cheap ones around, im around 6"3 so the bulkyness will be fine i should imagine.

looks like my xmas prezzie is insurance again this year.

Get one of those instead.
