How do you derestrict this model is it the same way as the NSR125R?
What top speed do these do & does the alcast NSR R swingarm bolt directly on?

Hello mate
The NS is a bit different to the NSR, but believe me once derestricted you'll have a whole lot more fun! You'll have to drill the exhaust, and the pipe is welded in there good and solid on the NS. None of this 3 little weld points on theses old babies, this bugger is solid. Also, on the right hand side of the engine as you sit on the bike there is a large nut. Undo it and you will see there is a bar coming off the nut ending in a sort of plate that blocks off access to the exhaust section of the cylender. Take a hacksaw to this and cut off the bar and plate, screw the nunt back in and you now own a NS that'll do around 90 and get there pretty 'kin quick! You can drill the airbox as well, but this will mean rejetting the carb and I haven't done this yet so I cant comment, but I'll let you know how it goes when I do...
Stay upright..

Hi

Exhaust is a pig to derestrict, but whatever you do, do not touch that bolt. There is a chamber beside the exhaust that on the full power versions is closed at high revs and open at low revs. If anything you want to block it up effectively rather than chop the bolt down.

All the best

Keith
