unless you really know what you are doing, or you have somebody watching you who knows what they are doing, i would really advise against doing it.

It is quite easy to do though.

Take the carb off, and if its the main jet you are changing, its at the bottom, under the float chamber, whip it out, and put in the new one. When you have your carb off, may aswell give it a clean up.

But tbh you would be much better giving it to somebody who knows what they are doing.

it's fairly easy to change them providing you have taken the carb off . download my file https://www.geneva-racing.com/~alains/NSRtips.doc
the easiest is the main jet which is screw on top of the fixing float chamber bolt . you will find the others easily

look my file , you will see . it's too long to explain , and it will take you about 1/2h to take off , 1/2 h for cleaning and changing jets , 1/2 h to set everything . best tools set of sockets 1/4" and i do not remember the spanner size (you need 2) to take off the axis bolt of the tank .

look my file and the diagram about valves sequence
https://www.geneva-racing.com/~alains/NSRtips.doc
the cables must be without play but not tighten too much . pulling out the sheaths will tell you how tighten they are , but it's essential that they open fully over 7500 rpm or when you put key on without starting engine . at this time check the sheath of the pulling cable , if you've got a play your valves do not open fully . to compensate , undo the screw on top of the pulley , lift up the pulley , pull out the pulling cable , with a piece of cupper wire (the one you use in your house, about 1mm diameter) , make a ring around the cable (this will make a thickness between the sheath and it's stopper) and it must go inside the stopper, refit the cable and the pulley .
note : using the adjuster will only work on the other cable , and why doing that ? because in use the cables come longer with the time

Their a joke mate! It just some local scammers from ebay who try to steal money from deranged bikers who dont know about their inner working of their bikes and just want it to go fast.

In my bike the powerband is between 7500 and 10000RPM, its just that extra bit of power the bike provides!
Doesnt yours have that Alains?

Razz

Well ive sorted my spark plug to its proper distance apart.

The flat spot is still there! You got anymore ideas to what i could do to fix this!

It is the most annoying thing ever! It envoled a lot of sudden gear changes before my rev counter reaches 6000RPM's.

Stu Karma Thumbs Up

P.s. Is it the CDI unit that is compltely messing with my bike? If i get a new Uk model CDI unit will this completely sort this problem or will it just run faster but still with the flat spot?

Alains are you still selling those electronic boxes that you sold The Shmoo? If so i would quite like to invest in on?

Did you check the needle?
And there will be some hesitation through the power band when the valves are opening (6500-8000rpm) when the bike is still cold. Warm it up properly and take it for a long ride!! If the "flat spot" is still there, then check the valves timing.

unfortunatly the make of the electronic circuit has ended . but with the doc , you will able to build your own . all components are worldwide avaiable and cost peanuts . it's also possible to insert a resistor 1/2W 2.7 Kohms between the light green and the red/white wire coming from the servo-motor (it will do nearly the same) .undertstand : the biggest restriction is on the valves opening because a total opening will make your rpm higher , the restriction on CDI is minor but goes with your rpm limitation . as genuine your max rpm is 10500 , better openning will allowed more rpm but your cdi is still limited at 10500 . so you can see that one goes with the other and if your power is with the genuine exhaust it will take time to reach 10500 , but with a race exhaust you will add some more bhp and get red zone faster . so to be precise :
- TV-78 valves control unit
- CI626 as CDI unit (you can spend £200 for a programmable one which will be much better)
- jollymoto 402 carbone
- carbon reeds (make engine smoother)
- BR10EIX (race plug)
- UK specs barrel & piston (different from french)
with all this you will be fully de-restricted without modifying the top-engine (it's possible to gain 4-6 bhp)
