I'm quite amazed that I havent yet been blown off my bike by a strong gust of wind ever since I've been riding. Been pushed around the whole of my lane before by the wind, but don't yet know of 1 person ever to have an off as a result of 'strong wind', so to speak |

The a507 gets quite bad. Was very lent over just after the sharp S's and because it a very open road (why i like it, lots of vis) it gets big gusts of wind rolling over the hill. Well when you are pretty low anyway and something takes both wheels a foot sideways at 60-70 odd. Thats interesting. ____________________ China traffic/travel bike vid - When I make a sweeping statement, please add the word 'statistically' in to the sentence before you bitch...

A friend of mine was blown into the central reservation on a dual carriageway once. He was on a CBR125 ( ), and they're light as owt though!
When I first started riding, I had a big ass TDR 125 and I found that it attracted the wind alot! I remember on my first long-ish ride out I got hit by the wind & instantly panicked, thought I was gonna crash & die or something . It doesn't really bother me now though. ____________________ Yamaha TDR 125 ~ Suzuki RG 125 ~ Aprilia RS 125 ~ Suzuki GSXR 600 K4 ~ 2001 Aprilia RSV 1000R (breaking for parts. Hi
Once on my VFR with tank bag, pillion and 2 rucksacks, we got caught in a big cross wind, felt like the front was going to tuck under, had to ride at nearly 45 degrees just to stay in a stright line, very scary.
Parked up for a while but had to sit on the bike to stop it from being blown over
then it started to snow and thunder & lightening, prolly couldnt have got much worse

i had mine leaned in a straight line the wind was that bad, the best bit is when a bus comes past and breaks the force of the wind and your steal leaning, nearly dropping the bike

Travelled over the m61 from manchester to huddersfield which is the highest motorway in britain or something like that and its bloody windy up there! It's all hills and stuff with a big valley in the middle, the hills kind of protect you from the wind but when you come in to this valley its a bit scary, especially when you've been hiding from the wind behind the side of a lorry. Nearly got swept across into the next lane! Still i sped up to get back behind the hills
problem solved! |

When stopped at lights on the cbr125 I nearly went, and driving to holyhead is scary on the zx6, there are a few bridges that I have to just stick my head down and go, I agree with TL666, faster is better Have ended up nearly getting my knee down on a straight road (not driving straight at the time, got blown across 3 lanes)

Nearly got blown off my scooter once when I was a newbie, compensating for the wind in one direction I didn't realise the tall buildings would suddenly make it come from the other direction. Half dropped it and hauled it back up (easier on a scoot), learned a lesson that day. |

bike almost stopped a few times in a gale because of the air flow around my k&n's almost came a cropper doing that, took me 3 hours to go 60 miles, had to get off the motorway,, too dangerous..
almost got blown off on my first bike,, was going flat out against the wind well screaming it and doing 40,, then i turned a corner and was nicely surprised that i had to ride with my arse hanging off the right hand side of the bike to go in a straight line,, , i decided to trun round and go home and had to get off the bike to turn round it was that bad,, ____________________ There is no point in ranting about someone stupid because there is nothing u can do about it.
