Hey guys.

So..

I turn the key. The neutral light comes on but no oil light. I press the ignition and as the bike starts the oil light flashes on for a sec and then disappears.

Is this normal? Shouldn't the oil light should be on when I turn the key before i start her?

Thanks for reading Smile

Hi

The oil light on those is an oil level light. It normally is on when the ignition is turned on and the engine not running, so I presume there is some circuit to trigger this.

All th ebest

Keith

Hi, mine did that.

It used to be on when the ignition was on but the engine not. Then after a while it stopped coming on when the ignition was on but engine not running, but would show while the start motor was turning over.

Never knew why. Just kept a closer eye on the level after that.

Mine only shows when the starter is turning...except for the other night when I installed a new fuse in my heated grips (never had them working since I got the bike). Lasted about 500 yards, then the fuse blew for the grips and the oil light came on. Stopped, checked oil, turned it back on, everything was normal again...except I still had cold hands. Think the grips are damaged and shorting out, hence the fuse blowing repeatedly.
