Im keeping the clocks but changing the faces of them as those clocks suit the bike and fit nicely im trying to do as much of the work as possibly by myself as i have set a £1000 budget overall... i need to totalise to make sure im still on track but im having good fun while doing it..
as for security i have a TDR250 also parked in that garage (sideways at the end) and a chain goes through the big generator, the TDR, the GPZ and some other random objects i have plus i have a alarm in there too.... and luckily for me there is a old lady who lives over the road from my garage that at the slightest sound looks out the curtains and calls the police on any suspicious looking person loitering about i got her a big bottle of sherry to say thankyou as she saved my bikes 2 times for me now.... hence the alarm and various other security i have |

You decided what sort of lights you are getting?
I reckon a big f-off rectangular one right in the middle would be in keeping with the styling. Or one of those double rectangular 'looney light' jobs. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. What about one out of a car? The big rectangular Hella ones boy racers fitted to their Audi quattros and Montegos back in the 80s.
Bet you'd get one for next to nothing fron a car breakers. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”

I was just wondering if you found any modern brakes that will fit straight on or if you are going to get a bracket made up.
I ask because I used to have a couple of GPz550's and the only thing that really let them down was the god awful brakes. When I get a bit of time and money and I want to restore a GPz550 but only when I can get appropriate brakes for it.
PS. when I was looking into getting a bracket made up for a modern calliper, I was warned that modern callipers may very well bend the forks, no idea if there is any truth to that.
Good luck with the project |

Problem with getting the brakes modded is that the Fork legs actually need machining because to take 4pot calipers you need spacers on... luckily i scored some spacers for next to nothing but the machining work and mounting brackets cost would put me well over budget and there is the risk of the forks fekking up...
So ive ditched the anti dive as planned... put in progressive springs and a heavier oil to suit my riding style and im gonna try n source some STD calipers and use them with braided lines and a SRAD 600 master cylinder should make an immense improvement and keep my costs down...
IF ANY ONE HAS SOME UNITRACK FRONT BRAKE CALIPERS THEY DONT WANT PLEASE GIVE ME A SHOUT |

Good work
You're right about the switch gear, for a second I thought I was looking at a GT550/750 there (same gear)
I'm now interested in the end result. Please post more pics as you go.

Used to belong to a mailing list concerning street stock racing for the GPZ750, attached is a text file concerning alot of the basic mods. May be no use at all, may be helpful. See what you make of it
For the record, I went with the dual rectangular "looney light" inside an AR125 nose cone on the front of mine, looked OK. Then again it had stopped looking even remotely "stock" by then. ____________________ I'm immortal. Well, so far. |

Just bear in mind, you're on a slippery slope. One minute I was looking for bigger wheels next thing I new I was fitting new running gear. Then again, first lesson of serious tweaking. If uprating the engine make damn sure your brakes and rubber will cope with it ____________________ I'm immortal. Well, so far. |

Well i got all the switches wired up eventually.... fekking kawasaki wires had self destructed so had to rebuild half the loom , Fixed the fuel guage display thingy and other idiot lights.... just need to sort the oil sensor and the "Warning" light n thats the electrical stuff all sorted ...
And it runs again only for a few seconds cos with only a set of downpipes on the neighbours may have not liked it too much...
Next mission find a mito seat or get hold of a R1 trackday/Race tail piece n use that (some time after payday tho)
next set of pics will be early january as i should have the rearsets, front lights and exhaust sorted by then.... the rear end is on hold til i source some bodywork(or a seat) that i like |

Don't know if this would fit in with your styling plans but the rectangular one on my GPX750 works really well with an uprated bulb, and I'd guess all the connections would be the same.
