PostPosted: 19:34 - 01 Dec 2005    Post subject: \o/ Passed my test! Reply with quote

Managed to pass my test today, on my second attempt. Generally my ride was crap, as I got 9 minors Embarassed whereas with my first test I got 5 and one serious which, in the New Bikers thread, I disagreed with pretty fervently.

Dunno if this should be in the New Bikers thingy either but... I don't care, I passed! Mr. Green

As winter sets in...

Do I buy a bike now and sell my current one for less than I would get in March, or ride my dad's 500 when the weather's decent?

Yes, I am a fair weather rider but only because I'd rather not crash after just passing.

Anywho, thanks for reading. Thumbs Up

Congrats  shame you missed the suzuki 0% finance offer. If your bike is binnable, ride as much as possible over winter - you might need the experience in the future.

Oops! Laughing

Many congrats MementoMori, now which one did you like best at the NEC....... Wink

What sort of 500 is it? I would be inclined to ride that to keep your hand in so to speak, passing the test is just the first stage in learning to ride IMO.

What bike do you fancy then?

Thanks for all your kind words, nearly blew up the house by burning my L Plates in the fireplace lol.

All the bikes at the NEC were too big except the Harleys! Sad

My dad's got a GPZ but unfortunately he dropped it the other day and the screen smashed, so untill that's fixed I'll be on the 50 which is actually in its very own shed for the winter. :: sigh ::

I'm after something like a CB400 or the Bandit 400.

Does anyone know how much a Chesterfield Aprilia RS50 could go for?

Thanks again! Very Happy

That's rubbish and you know it Rolling Eyes . I am inclined to beleive most of the bikes at the NEC are statically stood so are actually slightly higher than what they would be when on the road. The suspension will compress when sitting on the bikes normally too. If those are the bikes you like then get one, however your limit should be what bike you like the most, and any can be altered.

Well done. Thumbs Up Mr. Green

About £6-800 is what the Aprillia chesterfield reps go for on ebay, depends what condition it's in.

Get a bros400. They have a very low and narrow seat, are 33bhp legal, and are generally cheap and good and stuff. My 17 year old bros took me 4000 miles to Spain and back Thumbs Up
