Parking Lights...

When you have the ignition set to P what should it be doing? With my bike the headlight and the rear light turns itself on; is this what it should be doing? Could anyone kindly check with their bike be a big help?

Also should the 'PO' (I presume that means parking aswell) do the same as the ignition 'P'? The PO on my handlebars does nothing should I just cover that up for the mot if the one on the ignition works fine?

P for Parking usually puts a very dim light on the front and rear, not quite a full headlight. Its designed in case you need to park your bike on an unlit road, so nobody hits it.

It shouldnt be the full headlight as this will run your battery down.

No idea what the PO is about.

if you turn your ignition to P your front light and rear light should light up, so yours sound like they are working fine PO i am not sure on as my bikes don't have that.

Parking lights are not an MOT issue anyway, thats what my MOT center said

i hate the parking light thing as its very close to the steering lock position. One time i left it on by mistake and drained my battery.

I dont think I would ever use the parking lights intentionally.

Sounds like your parking light is blown or the wiring has gone if your PO does not work. I assume the PO is the parking light. It is the same light at the front that is activated when you select P.
