Glad you are ok and not too much damage to the bike. It did look rather slippery out there today.

Translation:

I was coming out of my drive just got onto the road and was doing about 5 miles an hour gave it to much throttle on cold tyres and cold/damp roads and the bike skidded from underneath me. all the damage was was scratches on the hand guard.

Yes, but we've all done that before and had the back kick out sometime whie being a bit eager. Lukily a few of us haven't gone all the way and lost it totally.

Still, lucky you had handguards.

I was pulling up at the lights behind traffic when there was this sudden shift in the space time 'cuntinuum' and I landed up on my arse.
Bike was propelled by force of nature down the road and by force of unequalled odds missed all the cars by inches. Laughing
2nd off. Embarassed What a fanny.

He's got an XT on bikepics, too.

You've got my sympathy with the off, jon. I can't stay upright on ice at all, it's just totally frictionless. My only off was due to sheet ice.

Well I'll give you sympathy, I dropped mine in January in similar circumstances, though I did get half way to the gritted roads before it happened. Ice is nasty. I don't ride in snow any more (on the corners the slush becomes ice).

Glad you are ok.
