kk i rang about 12 companies, most of which from my perivous thread about good ones to call, this was the result:

https://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d20/andy13_uk/Quotes.jpg

Now how to i haggle these? Motorcycle direct was £490 TPFT which is good enought but want to haggle so more to get a better quote as know it can be done.

Any tips?

also, - means either: "no your too young" or "are quote are rubbish for you" or somthing along these lines!!lol

Ring them up and say I have a quote from company 'x' for £450, can you beat it?

If they say no, ask what the lowest they will go is - you have a friend that has reccomended them, and you'd prefer to go for a reccomendation than an unkown, but want to get a good price as well.

If they come a fair bit lower, then ring them back again, saying company x has knocked off another £50 or whatever, repeat.

If that list is in order of ones you called, I would try ringing some again. When I'm doing this I make a note of the ones that are the lowest price yet - these ones may well come down if they are beaten, obvioulsy if they are higher than the quote you give them for what you've already got, there's no point.

I sometimes get a figure from a company I know gives me good quotes, then knock £50 off and ask around based on that, as it means less bullshit.

some were stupid quotes or "your too young"

To be honest, I doubt the people on the end of the phone care. I only say that to justify why I would want to know their quote and maybe take it out when I've already got a quote for £50 less than that.

With the companies I use I usually say 'well I've been with you for a few years and had good service' - as there's two bike companies that seem to consistantly give me better quotes than others, so I use them.

Phone up choice quote, and CIA

First of all ring CIA and Lie to them say you have a £457 quote with motorcycle direct.

Then they will probably beat it,

You then ring Choice quote and tell them CIA's quote and they will beat that (they guarentee to beat quotes)

I got my ZX6R quotes from £800 too £401!

Cool

(if you go with choice quote let me know as I will get £25)

Bet they don't, unless it's with caveats (ie we will definitely beat your quote, unless we can't).
