Its basicly a larger capacity battery, If it fits it will be better 1A load on 10Ah will last 10hours approx, so 1A load on 12Ah will last 12hours approx. |

12Ah is better than 10Ah, as mattish said.
A 10Ah battery is more than sufficient as it is for a bike that is working correctly, 12Ah just means that when your bike won't start, you can try to start it for longer. ____________________ Yamaha TDM 850 |

The part number you gave "YTX12-BS " is for a 12Ah battery anyway if my memory serves me correctly. Had they sent you the exact Varta one, it would also have been 12Ah. This is what the '12' in the number referrs to.
The letters referr to the size, the number is the Ah rating and the two following letters are the orientation and type of the terminals.
If it was a 6v battery there would be a '6' in front of the number so for example a CG125 would take a 6n6-3b which is a 6v, 6Ah battery. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”

I think thats just an error in their product description, that part code should be 12Ah as stink has suggested.
Or maybe not as the case may be
