I have something terrible to admit.

I had a ride on a Harley Heritage Softtail today... and I enjoyed it! Embarassed

Seriously.

OK, so the engine is underpowered, the brakes don't work and it doesn't handle very well, but I did have a real blast.

The sound is amazing (especially as it had a Stage 1 kit on it - loud pipes) and does more than make up for the lack of power. For a cruiser, the handling was OK - definately easier to ride than a Rocket. The brakes are not that important in normal riding as long as you plan for the fact that they don't work too well.

So there we go - I rode a Harley and enjoyed it.

I can understand some of the appeals, having owned a classic bike, which presumably has a few similar charms.

Just a different aspect of biking, if you enjoy it, that's the main thing.

Always nice to test out someone else's bike as well...

Thats one reason why NOT to buy a harley - they have not lean angle. I've seen it done before by a harley at the roundabout by shell petrol station in Congelton.

The thought of owning a harley or any similar bike is making me shudder ( like someone is walking over your grave ) Sick

A Buell is a fun bike, it's one of the best handling bikes on the market, a harley isn't.
