I have a huge handbuilt shed (It takes 2 bikes, fridge, dumbledryer, worktop with ease) but I've noticed that sometimes it gets quite damp in there (tumble dryer hasnt been used in days btw)

All my tools/bikes/minimoto etc are covered in damp water now, I know it's been near freezing the last few days and today it's wet and warm but should it still get damp in the shed?

Got any tips to keep the dampness away?

If it's a metal shed it will always get damp.

Get yourself a dehumidifier, it will take all themoisture from the air.

is it lined on the inside with viscrene, both my wooden sheds are lined with thick black viscreen and i have never had damp in iether of them, if it is lined and is fairly air tight, you need to create some air circulation somewhere with a grill on the side that they put on extractor fans

It's not damp so much as condensation. Air vents are the only way to go so it's the same temp inside as out.

mine is a really cheap oven.

Never gets damp, and built out of a bigger shed.
Brilliant

If you've got power in the shed fit a small tube heater or green house heater with a thermostat on it. Thumbs Up

it'll be the fridge that does it as it'll warm up the shed slightly

I've been thinking about the fridge/freezer. It's always got condensation on it.

Mabe I need a VERY cheap form of heater in there to keep the temp up slightly. Something with a thermostat.

Any suggestions?

Knock it down, build a new shed rather like a house, damp proof, full insulation, heating and ventilation Laughing
Of course I dont expect you to really do that.....just cause my OH is in the process of doing just that for the babies and crap that goes with them, who knows, he may even move in!
