hi, im on a DT125r, going 85mph on motorway, suddenly BOOM going up-hill with sun reflecting off the road & sun going into my eyes. i honestly couldnt see a thing for a bout 4 mins, it was the most scariest ride of my life, i passed a HGV with my hand above eyes (like ur trying to see something great, hand arched above your eyes) and he waved!!!!

my question is....... can someone give me any tips of what to do when this happens (dont say "wear sun glasses") i thought it was very funny when the man in lorry thought i was waving to him...

Btw i've passed my test couple of weeks ago, so plz dont post stupid replys like "haha your on a 125 hehe get a real bike"

only reason i dont get a 400 yet is because i'd rather wait 4 months untill i'm 18 and save 200 quid Very HappyVery Happy

Try one of those fogcity/tinted inserts for your visor. Might help in those situations.

Get a 600 though, be around the same price Thumbs Up

Seriously though theres nothing much more you can do apart from get an insert, tinted visor or glasses i dont think.

If your vision is impaired and you are uncomfortable, pull over. Simple as.

But yes, either a tinted visor or a visor insert which stops demisting and works great.

Stop the bike, turn round and go the other way. Sun won't be in your eyes, and its cheaper than a new visor.

85mph on a wet road two weeks after passing your test? Shocked You're lucky the worst that happened was that the HGV driver thought you were waving at him!

Sunnies or tinted visor, quite a few tank/bum bags have slots for spare visors. Or, do what Strag suggested! Laughing

After passing his full test not cbt so has probably been riding on a cbt for a while. Thumbs Up

Nothing wrong with 85 on a wet road either as long as hes going in a straight line. Laughing

You can get a Fog City that actually darkens/lightens according to the conditions - fine, until you go under a bridge or through a tunnel. Had one on my old Shark, although it suffered from the usual Fog City problems.

A 125 is a real bike, if some dick head tells u it ant when hes sitting on his R1 then give him a race around a round-a-bout.

Now I got that off my chest, I got a crash helmet that has a small switch that flicks down a pair of sunglasses!!! It dosnt look that cool but gets u out of shit. And just by the flick of the switch again it pops up into its conceld place again.

Speaking of fog city problems, mine fogged the other day! I was seriously disgruntled!

Well, I would suggest slowing down before you reach the point where you can't see. Now you know that heading into a low sun on a wet road can leave you with seriously impaired visability, it wont catch you by surprise again.

The seals do wear after a while (my first one last two years before showing signs of being ready for replacement.)

How long has yours been installed? Question

About a year or so. It was originally my brother's, but he didn't fit it. was scratched a bit, too.

Plus they're a witch to keep clean. My Arai came with an inserted Pinlock - much better. Finish/fit is an improvement as well.

EDIT: Maybe that would be a better option - as you can get interchangeable inserts (clear, tint, high vis, etc).
