Can anybody tell me what the correct tyre pressure on my bike should be (Cagiva Planet)?

I have Dunlop Sportmax Radial rear 150/60 and front 110/70. Is that enough info? It doesn't tell me anything in the handbook. Confused

Thanks!

Sometimes there's a sticker on the frame or swing arm.

im not sure quite how important the exact tyre pressures are, but ive got the same size tyres as you and i run 32 at the front 36 at the back, but my bike weighs more than yours so i dunno

best check with a dealer or something, i converted mine from the japanese handbook

According to the helpful dunlop page, a Cagiva Planet 125 should have (for a solo rider) 0psi at front and 0psi at the rear. Confused I reckon that's maybe a bit on the low side. I'll maybe phone the garage, or just try 32/36.

I'd be inclined to say 28 front, 30 rear. It's a light bike altho they seem like massive tyres....150 rear?! an RVF400 has a 150 rear.

Hi

For the Mito Evo, from the Cagiva workshop manual, front is 1.9 bar and rear is 2 bar (2 bar and 2.2 bar with a pillion)

The RS125 uses a 150 rear tyre as well, and so does the Gilera CX125 we have (except that use a 120 front to go with it)

All the best

Keith

How much pressure do tyres normally lose in a week? I check them each week (using the garage forecourt machine) and they normally lose about 10 psi in a week of riding. I am currently setting them at 30 front 32 rear.

So change the valve caps or the tyres? The rear valve cap has a rubber seal, but doesn't make any difference.

May be a stupid question but how much of a "hiss" should the valve give when you release the pump from the tyre. It seems slightly too long to me - doesn't shut off "sharply". Can you oil the valve or something? Confused

it should stop straight away. it may be worth getting a vew valve put in. if you go to any tyre place you should be able to get one and its most likely they wont charge you as they only cost a few pence

That is way too much Shocked When i had my new tyres fitted they kept loosing pressure ( a few psi a week) then my mechanic changed the valve's and they're fine now. I've got an NSR which i think has a 150 rear tyre Confused I run 29psi front 33psi rear

Is it really gonna be cheap to get the valves replaced? Won't they have to remove the rear wheel to do it which will take some time and cost some money?

replacing valves is easy, ppl i know who've got it done just donate the garage a box of teabags or something Wink

I don't piss about checking my pressure at garages every week, I just press the tyres to check the pressue every now and then you should be able to feel if it's deflated at all.

Ive been thiking all this time that my RS125 was abnormal because it has such a crazy sized tyre on the rear! Not even my CBR600 has a 150! its a 130 or something like that.

I was looking in a bike shop at the different sized tyres (yes i was bored) thinking that 150 was the widest you could get but they had sizes right the way up to 180.

Anyway... the point being, My RS125 isnt the only freak of nature Laughing

they do 200 section tyres too, the ZX-12R uses them. 150 is quite large for a 125 tho.
