If anyone sees a shop/show selling original Raid helmets, not Raid 2s at a half decent price, could you let me know please.

I don't *need* a new lid but if there are any reasonably bargainous ones out there, I'd pick up a spare. There's logic here - I have three visors that fit a Raid but don't fit the Raid 2, and at £30+ a pop, that makes buying a lid they'll fit on seem like a plan.

J&S still have them but at £189 which is more than I paid for mine when it was new 2 years ago. Rolling Eyes

And yes, I'm keeping an eye on ebay, a few shops clear out old stock now and then, just none of them have had any mediums in anything except white.

Ta. Thumbs Up

£189?!?! Black Raid 2s are £195 in P+H when i went to buy helmets!! i think they should be lower than that but i guess not, When did Shoei stop making them? did the Raid 2 replace Raid one or were both sold for a bit?

Yeah the Raids use the CX-1 visor system and the new Raid 2's, XR-1000 & X-spirit use the CX-1V system.

Speaking from experiance, Raid has been pushed out by the Raid two. Once a size got low when we order a raid we'd recieve a Raid two. If you get one ace but its gonna be tough.

I like em', got one Very Happy

Happy hunting Thumbs Up

The J & S in newbury had them for less last time I was there, I could swear, though that was a while ago.

The original raid does fit me a bit better than the Raid II.

Hi

Think Charlotte paid ~£100 for hers at the BMF show. Probably a reasonable price to aim for.

Possibly the best thing to do is to aim to pick one up at the Ally Pally show in a few weeks time.

All the best

Keith

I got one from https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-SHOEI-RAID-HELMETS-IN-X-LARGE-ROYAL-BLUE-ONLY-89_W0QQitemZ4600880889QQcategoryZ72278QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem for £89 plus £9 postage.
If you send them a message they sometimes have sizes that aren't on ebay. It sounds like a proper bike shop when you call them.

Thanks
Carrie Very Happy

I got mine from Cissbury leathers (who do deliver) a few months back for £90 although that was a clearing out stock kind of deal. They have a few shops so they might have a couple left. If so it should be at a decent price.

Ebay, there's generally a few selling new ones on there. I just got a brand new, boxed one for £50, well pleased!
