This is my 3rd year of riding staight through the winter. A good warm snood. An oxford huff and a decent pair of gloves should see you through the worst.
Although!!
I remember having to stop on the A7 one late night on the way to Gala and putting my hands on the exhaust. brrrr. -2 at 1130 pm and a 45 min ride. freeze the balls off a brass monkey.
Heated hand grips for next winter me thinks ____________________ Honestly officer I didnt do it !!!

Snoods are great; not just for biking, they're also fantastic for skiing/snowboarding. That should sort out neck and chin heat. Hands; try out some winter gloves, or go into Millets and get a pair of those gel pads which heat up when you snap them. Work for years on end and should provide some direct heat to your hands. Saying that, I hope they'd fit in under the gloves, I'm yet to buy mine as I didn't know about them last winter and I'm not riding this winter. |

There is only one way to keep your hands warm, but I hate the things, had them for a couple of years in the winter and my fingers were warm in sub Zero conditions. Combined with heated grips you can wear summer gloves all year round and your hands would be too hot on the coldest days.
Took em off, HATE EM, but do miss the taosty warm fingers after a long cold ride to work.
And they are.........
