Well had the SV for about a month, and well haev plans for it
However, quite small plans on the grand scale of things but still!!
heres a list of what i want to do before summer kicks in, in the order i will try and go about it
1. undertray with new slightly smaller reg plate and new indis to match front clean ones (found all of it just got to buy it now!)
2. alarm (cheap one, tatters help me find a good price on Ebay)
3. Ohlins Springs, a lot of the SVers or SV650.org do this and lowers it for corner turn in and better ride, with 15W oil in (GSXR750 fork transplant would be amazing but WAY to costly)
4. GSXR shock, not to sure where im getting this from yet but will help the suspension as really just feels vaugue when riding (i relise i wont get GSXR suspension standard from the SV but i think ill be happy once done this and springs)
5. Work on pitted forks so they look nice for summer
6. De-rust the downpipes
7. Maybe new DB screen like Dom has on his SV and mine is farily rubish at high speed
8. Seat cowl to finish it
So hopefully this wont go over £400 and be looking even finer for summer anyone doing simular or have any tips for slowing chaning bit on the bike? ____________________ 99 RS125 --> 02 SV650s --> 03 Speed Four --> 92 RXS100 --> 93 CB400sf --> 01 CB600f Hornet |

For fork springs try K-tech, they're better and cheaper than Ohlins.
If you want tuning / suspension tips look at the Minitwin race series, those lads make the SV650 really handle with fairly minimal modifications! They generally stick with Ohlins or Nitron rear shocks though, which would blow your budget immediately!
Also look at JHS racing in Bristol
https://www.jhsracing.co.uk/
They supply lots of parts for SVs and are top dog when it comes to SV tuning, nice range of rearsets etc at reasonable prices too. |

I had JHS Racing stage 2 upgrade.
Ask babykat, he tried it, they were superb.
Polish the forks as well, looks nicer and mine didn't fade in the time I had the sv.
GSXR Shock, hmm, sure the zx6r shock doesn't fit better? Me and babykat looked at how the gsxr shock I had would fit on his bike but we were a little....puzzled. Either that or it sounded like too much work. |

Andy,
For suspension stuff try STEVE JORDAN MOTORCYCLES.
He does top notch work apparently and comes highly recommended.
He's based very near to Boxhill as well, and I'm going in to see him at some point to ask about some suspension tweaks to my bike, so maybe at the next Boxhill meet we can pop in and see him. |
