BT 020 !?

My bike is getting serviced today, and since the tyres were very bad he said that he has a set of 020's and did i want them i said yes as the tyres were very bad, does anyone have them? what are they like ?

My dad has them on his zzr600. They are sports touring. Quite good in dry as well as wet and last a long time. I would be happy with them. Thumbs Up

I have them on the Bandit. Seem to be fine for my style of riding. Others would recommend somehting a bit softer if you're going to thrash it round the place. I wouldn't know about that kind of thing, i'm a sedate rider. Embarassed

Be aware that there are two types of BT020. The F and U grade.

The U has a much deeper tread and was the tyre choice for Pan European riders. Compound is the same.

F has the same tread pattern but less tread depth.

I have a bt 020 on the back of my zxr, what can i say my restricted zxr will wheel spin them when i nail the throttle. i wouldnt advise them for thrashing around on in the summer, you would want something a little softer that gets hotter and more sticky. Not bad for winter though hasnt slipped on cornering.

I've got one on the rear. I thought they where more sport than touring, but still pretty good life. There an all rounder sort of tyre. I rate them Thumbs Up

will keep them till the good weather comes back and then get something a little softer

Personally, I've yet to come across a crap tyre. Laughing

The Avon sportsmax(?) on the ninja is the only tyre that has lost a bit of traction in my riding experience.

Yeah, got pirelli somethings on my ZX6R at the moment, seem good tyres, But when I change them I will go back to 020's

I tried an 014 and ripped it off in about 1000 miles on a bandit 600.

The 020 will get 6K easy with the same sort of abuse.

My advice is keep an eye on the front tire, in my experience i had them on my cb750, they last forever but the front seems to suffer from uneven tire wear, maybe it was just my bike on the way i rode.

got one on the back of my cbr400, i dont think it has worn down since i got the bike lol, not a bad tyre no real problems with it at all can get the bike pritty far over before it starts to twich

They're a nice compromise, they're ok to commute on, but will still do a trackday with no problems.

Personally, I wouldn't want on the front wheel.

No, I'm not 40, though I don't tend to totally thrash bikes on the road. I do know how to ride.
I just prefer to have a bit more safety margin on the front for a road tyre. Seem to remember also they don't warm up very quickly. Generally wouldn't like to push the front too much with them.

Saying that, I have got a Supercorsa front and 010 rear for my 250 mile a week winter commuting bike Smile

- I prefer to have the maximum grip possible. Definitely in damp and worse conditions the 020 doesn't seem nearly as good as the 010 or stickier tyres I prefer.

I've seen quite a few pan-euros with them on.

hey extreme3d i've got 014's on my bike and yes i'm over 40, but i don't have mini indicators on my 04 mille. i had an sv650s before i got the mille and i found the best combo for that bike was 010 front 020 rear, the 010's don't last very long on the rear of the sv.
as for scraping the pegs what bollocks
