as i said number of times , the bike serial number will tell if it's restricted or not . look the letter after ZDCJC22 :
A italy (not restricted)
B france (barrel different)
C UK (not restricted)
E Switzerland (barrel different
so all these bikes are restricted on exhaust and have an intake plate between carb & engine , and they are underjet .
B & E have electronic restriction on both CDI & RC valves control unit . you can transform them in uk specs by changing barrel kit and the valves system (base guide and the 2 valves) . you must also change both electronics but it's necessary to cross the green and yellow/black wires on the 4 wires connector coming out from the loom and going to the CDI (no modification changing the RC valves unit) . warning! the valves cables are reversed on those bikes .
look my file https://www.geneva-racing.com/~alains/NSRtips.doc
obviously you must :
- take off (on all bikes) exhaust restriction (they are sited differently on B & A bikes) and the intake plate
- upjet as main 138 , slow 42 , power 65
- fit carbon reeds and BR9EIX plug
NOTE : some bike between 1996 & 1997 may have a special number begining by ZDCJC228 and on those i've no info about their restrictions , the best way to find is to look both electronics . CDI with CI626 are unrestricted , RC valves with TV-78 also ____________________ the worst day fishing is better than the best day working |

LOL, so many replys but no-one has actually answered the question. Can't you see he's asking if he need to rejet or not after derestriction rather than asking how to derestrict.
And on the matter... I'm not 100% sure that its an absoloute must, but i've been told too gain the full power out of it, rejetting is pretty much the clever thing to do. |

I've just rejetted mine after using it for a year as standard. You will not blow it up by not rejetting, so it isn't a must. The reason I did was to see if I could get it to pull in top gear up to the redline, as it only ever got ot about 9000 revs in 6th.
Jets I had already in place were 135, 38, 65 so you might not need another power jet. Mine was an Irish import, however, but is identical to a UK spec. If you do need a power jet, you can have mine. ____________________ https://www.bikepics.com/members/fuzzbcf/

I was also thinking of derestricting my nsr and was just about to ask the same question. One of my mates used to have an imported nsr (2000) and he said his bike seized three times after derestricting and not changing the jet but another person i know who had a uk nsr (1995) derestricted it and didn't bother changing the jet - his never seized! I'm still not sure whether to change the jet in mine (UK 1999). I was planning on derestricting it tomorrow but i'm not sure now. ??? |

nsr125's are made for speed! thats why people professionally race them, and that you can tune them to get 100mph+!
