Well i have had my Raid 2 since christmas when i went halfs with my parents which was nice as my old helmet was rubbish!!

My question is, does you visor close propaly as i think mine is fault, i doesnt close shut like you imaging a £250 helmet would and the seal around the visor its very tight on top but not at bottom, it VERY noisy (i know Raid 2 are noisy but this is the extreme i think!even with ear plugs)

i have taken the visor off and made sure its not bent and put it back on but same problem

its hard to see in a pic but ill try, theres also bit of wind blowing in my eyes when going 90+mph which makes me think that it is faulty

Im going to take it into the shop soon and see what they think, i hope they can sort it and not change it as just got it to fit my head nicely!!

in the last pic i put my finger in the way and you can see the gap there, this is with the visor FULLY closed!!

Anyone else have this problem and is the only solution taking it back? was from P+H in crawley but take it to the Brighton branch as much near and on the way to college (kind of Confused )

Hi

Is this with the original visor or one you bought to go with it. Suspect if you tried the older Shoei visors with it you would have this effect.

Otherwise check the visor is properly in place (they are a doddle to remove). Failing that it might be the mounting points need adjusting. Shoei can do this in seconds (they use a visor in place with a hole drilled to get at the screws that are in the middle of the visor mounts) but probably not easy to do perfectly yourself.

All the best

Keith

Yes its orginal visor, ive taken it off at work today and had a good fiddle as the release system makes it so easy, the visor is fine but feels like its isnt on the right helmet, although im 100% its the right one as i same the lady get it out of the box in the shop and was ok in the shop, i havnt knocked it as VERY carful with it as i want it to last the full 5 years (hopefully!)

Thanks for the quick reply, any other ideas?

I have this helmet too. Firstly, its obvious that it should seal properly, and unless you have dropped it etc... its a genuine fault. How did you not notice when you tried it on in the shop? On the other hand i have noticed that the pads inside he helmet dont last all that long, and squash down quite alot after about 4 weeks of heavy use. the good thing is you are, By law, entitled to a full refund.

could be a borked visor rather than the helmet as they bend pretty easily, take it back to where you got it from and see if u can try another visor in it Thumbs Up

There's a catch thing on the left hand side.

Is this set to the middle position.

Turning it anticlockwise locks the visor in position when closed (also stops it closing if it's done when not closed), middle is 'normal operation' and turned clockwise stops it closing.

Apologies if you knew this - I spent most of the racing season last year with a cable tie holding my Raid I visor open because I didn't realise it had that function!

A Raid I visor on a Raid II gives a significantish gap at the top and bottom.

In a recent MCN they were looking at the RAID II and said that the visor is different to the RAID I and wouldn't fit properly, I'll try and dig it out if it's not gone in the recycling bin.
