 |
|
On the 14th feb ill have £1000 to spend on a new motor and obviously i want to get as much bike as i can for my money,I know its not a huge amount but if anyone knows of a nice motor 500cc+ ill be keen to hear from you.
The suzuki gs500 seems a good buy? bullet proof engine and generally cheap to buy but im open to suggestions and offers
Thanks for your help,Lee ____________________ FJ1200 The ultimate tourer |

I'd go for a 500 twin, for the money you'd be able to get an ok one, if you try and buy something bigger you'll have to settle for a tatty one if you see what I mean...
They may not be exciting to look at but they're quick enough to be fun and do-everything practical ____________________ "he who makes a beast of himself gets rid of the pain of being a man"- Dr. Johnson |

I'd agree with the general consensus here. 500 twin seems to be the way to go. The CB500's hold their prices very well.
If you keep it clean and on top of servicing and look after it, an ER-5 will do you well (can you gues I had one?). You should be able to pick up a fairly new model for a grand. ____________________ Like a Yorkie - I'm not for the girls |

Don't know if insurance is an issue but Autotrader says:
1988 HONDA CBR,
30,000 miles, Honda cbr 600 jellymould, excel cond for year. It has 5mths tax and will come with 12mths mot. It has got good tyres on both wheels, the bike has new front pads and a new gold x ring chain and sprockets. It has an art end can (sounds superb) and also has the original exhaust for the mot. Everything on the bike works perfectly and it runs and sounds great. It also comes with a spare cut down front mudguard. The reason i am selling it is that i have bought a new bike and need the garage space. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. £850. ono
PS Why am I getting warned about possible bad karma for posting this? |

Or, something different, a bit stylish, bulletproof, reasonable handling:

Triumph Trident 750 or 900. A grand should get you a good one. |
