Didn't you land up with the throttle valve in the wrong way round/needle off or something last time?

I would leave your carb well alone for the moment, they are a precision piece of engineering and you shouldn't fiddle with them unecessarily. I understand how they work and I don't touch them unless I think something is wrong. I advise you do the same.

Rejetting ther carb in itself will not make your bike faster unless it is in conjunction with other modifications. Get the jetting wrong and you could seize your engine.

Rejetting wont make a bike go faster it will make the bike run lean or rich, rejetting only usually needs to be done when you use aftermarket exhaust systems, or derestrict a 2 stroke.

It can make your bike go faster, coupled with a performance exhaust system and air filter, and some dyno time to get it right.

Not only can you rejet, but as you say, you can alter the float height, aswell as the needle height and altering air/fuel ratio. As you can see, it's not a simple matter of swapping a couple of jets over and hey presto, but rather a complex procedure best left for someon who knows what they're doing.

Basically it goes:

Main jet - Full throttle/high RPM operations
Needle position - Midrange richness
Float height - Low end power
Mixture screw - Idle and low RPM smoothness

Trouble is, changing one thing affects the others, so it's not as black and white as this.

I bored out my orginal exhausts to make them louder and free flowing. I changed the needle position's recently (richer) and it pulls so much better in the midrange rev's now Thumbs Up .
