I think you come to a time when you know you can do it and so you just have to go ahead and book it, just keep practicing in the mean time, relax, you will be fine Thumbs Up

Just go through it all in head for a few days every now and then leading up to the test. Then when it comes to the day say a running commentry out loud, it will help you concentrate and do things in the right order. Good luck Thumbs Up

You will feel better when you're on the test after the firt corner thats the worst part, then you actually start to enjoy it. I actually found it to be easier then with my trainer as i paid more attention lol & didn't have him telling me what i was doing wrong, on my last training day i got told i needed 1 more lesson which i didn't think i needed but turns out that 1 day i learned a hell of alot & on the test it just came naturally to do all the checks & indicate etc.

You will pass aslong as you don't get any majors just keep that in mind & you're just doing everything he tells you.

Good Luck Thumbs Up

Is there any aspect of the test that is worrying you in particular, or is it just general fear? Smile

Pass and that feeling will disappear in a trice. Nerves are a good thing if you control them, hopefully they'll help you do everything by the book. I failed once by getting complacent and not being nervous in the slightest.

Good luck. Thumbs Up

Thanks again guys.

To be honest it is silly stuff that I am bothered about. I'm worried about correcting indicators etc, which I normally am fine at (I know I'm being stupid!)

The thing that does worry me is moving the bike . . . I can move my bike but not without looking like I am on the edge of dropping it all the time! It's cos I am small. That is one of the reasons I am doing the A2 test and not DAS. If I'm not good moving a 125 I think I'll have no chance with a 500 (let alone trying to touch the floor when I'm on it!)

It's a little frustrating that as soon as I booked it the weather turned bad again! I feel like I need the practice as I haven't ridden since just before Christmas!

Not at all - it's only natural that you would think of what might possibly go wrong. It's easier said than done, but if you can treat your test like just another lesson with your instructor behind you, then you'll breeze through it. As most people will tell you, it feels like it only takes about five minutes to do the whole test anyway Smile

I can't speak from personal experience on this (because I'm a lanky bloke) but all I can suggest is that you take your time and try to keep the bike leaning a little bit towards you all the time. That way, if it does get away from you a little bit you're much less likely to drop it. I never heard of anyone failing their test for taking too long to walk the bike across the road (as long as there's nothing coming obviously!) so don't try and rush it!
On a similar theme, don't feel pressured to start walking the bike or doing your U-turn just because you've been waiting a while. If it takes five minutes for a safe gap to appear, take five minutes. The examiner will expect you to. Getting jumpy and going for an iffy gap won't do you any favours Smile

Look at it this way - if you can do it in this weather you can do it in any weather - you won't be like these fairweather softies who fill their trousers at the first sign of rain Wink

You will be fine my friend, We can go out the weekend before, and if we get boys bits sprayed he can come too if he's around too. Just think of the up coming European dream tour in summer! Also mate don't worry about the size of bikes when you pass, you can have a sit on the boys 400 and I'm sure you'll find it not to be too heavy. Have fun with it, get shot of the L's so we can go down the A1M Very Happy

I did my DAS last year, and was worried about the extra weight of the 500...
We had Honda CG125's for the CBT, and Suzuki GS500's for DAS, but to be honest the 500 actually seemed to have a more balanced feel than the 125

As for the test, almost everyone is nervous but as long as you can control it, rather than the nerves affecting your riding, you can use it to your advantage. I remember near the end of my test, I suddenly noticed that I'd been concentrating on my riding so much that I didn't realise it was almost over until we turned in to the road where the test centre was. Rolling Eyes Embarassed

Good luck to ya!! Thumbs Up

When you get there you will worry what allll the fuss was about. Take it slowly, talk to yourself (I mean who's gonna hear you?), if you make a mistake, which you won't, just pretend it didn't happen and go for the win.

You've got the ability to pass, just ride to prove to yourself that you can do it, not the examiner.

Thumbs Up The best of luck to you. Karma

It's kinda as I said above, I'm more frustrated by icy roads at the moment! I just feel like I need practice and (I understand the ride in all weathers reasoning) the weather is stopping me at present. I came off on black ice before Xmas and am not willing to risk another spill so close to my test! Shocked

That makes me sound unhinged! But I assure you I'm not. Smile
