 |
|
Well, last sunday i invested in a cagiva planet 125 in very good condition (dry usage only) and with only 6000 miles on the clock for £900. Today, i bought insurance and my god that feels quick when you've only ridden a 50 and a CG125!
It's a really nice ride, too. The front end is basically a ducati monster with a HUGE disk and Brembo 4-pot. One of the previous owners binned it in the wet thanks to that razor of a front brake, it's really a bit too much for the bike. The ride is superb though, little dive under braking, road imperfections don't even think about disturbing my sensitive little derierre(sp?), and the bike still feels responsive and confidence inspiring!
The engine isn't the smoothest at the high end, but the ammount of torque in the mid range suprised me for a 2-stroke, i expected it to be a lot more of a bumble bee.
Absolute corker of a machine! Best £900 i have ever spent TO BE HONEST, IT'S THE ONLY TIME I'VE SPENT £900 IN ONE GO

Looks a nice bike, and at an even nicer price Bet it feels good to get off the scootay, huh?
What's the wind blast like on a naked bike like that? I only ever rode the NSR unfaired once, and I got colder than I'd ever been before Even colder than on my old scoot, at least that had leg shields.
Sure you'll have a lot of fun with it Take it easy and keep it looking good Oh, and watch the sidestand... when I was looking to buy a cagiva I was advised they're pretty lethal (sprung or something? I dunno, was just told that a lot of people drop them because of the stands )

Automatic retracting sidestand - shouldn't be a problem, as i'm used to only having a centre stand, so i always have to put the stand out again. Wind blast is no probs, even at full whack, but then again i've got a windproof jacket, and i wear 2 pairs of pants whilst riding. The vibration tickles my hands to buggery, so it's getting some rubber-mounted braced bars to sort that out. ____________________ www.bikepics.com/members/jackcheese <--- NOW FOR SALE! 51 Plate Cagiva Planet 125
