I woudlnt myself.. unless you know the rateing (something like 60/70amps?
Get down halfrauds or a car shop and get some propper battery cable and terminals
Quite simply isn't worth the risk of seting yourself or your bike on fire ____________________ >RidingSkills<->Tech Tips<->MyBikes< |

Probably the starter relay..
The wire will be roughly
8mm 105amp
9.2mm 170amp
11.3mm 300amp
depending on the wire thickness..
If you so solder them back together you should use heatshrink to cover the join, and some kind of anti abrasive shelding.. anything less and it will come back to haunt you ____________________ >RidingSkills<->Tech Tips<->MyBikes< |

Has it got an electric start at all? if not it could be the regulator/rectifier maybe? have you got the wiring diagram on your pc?
I'd still use propper similar sized cable + shielding though, the house cable might take it, but it might not..
Does the wire just dissapear inside this black box or has it got a terminal of some sort? ____________________ >RidingSkills<->Tech Tips<->MyBikes< |

Get a crimmping set with higher voltage fittings in m8,
and if your worried about the weather getting at it get some shrink cover, the stuff that shrinks when you apply heat to it . ____________________ "Its Better To Burn Out Than Fade Away!!!!!!" "Lifes a bitch and then you Die"

Housing wire is not flexible or weatherproof enough, you need some proper vehicle wire of the same thickness.
I would solder the two together and shrink-tube over the top. A crimp would be equally effective.
Probably best to make up a whole new bit of wire with a ring terminal on the end and splice it on to what is left, the fewer joints you have, the better. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. Or bodge it like i would. Fit any wire you can find, just twist them together and cover it in shit loads of black insulation tape.
Not had a problem yet. |

Chock block = Terminal Block?
If so, your not supposed to use it on bikes?
I have my headlights connected via it due to a certain somebody saying it was better than normal spade/bullet connectors...
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Please Answer! Im worried now |
If it ain't broke dont fix it. Slap on some insulation tape if you are concerned. |

Yeh but thats clearly a one off, just because you join a dodgy wire with just insulating tape doesn't mean the bikes gonna catch fire. |
