i'm suppose some say you get what's coming to you and this is what i get for being such an idiot, after crashing a rental CBR600RR in january, i've finally told my parents so they could get my passport back and get me out of trouble.

now nothing comes for free these days so i've been told as long as i'm living under their roof i'm NEVER having a bike again and even though they saved me from a spell in jail i've now got to pay off the 2,100 pounds damage to them. this means selling my drum kit, my kitesurf gear, everying i love aside from biking.

now before any of you call me a selfish little brat after reading the next sentence, bear in mind my parents have taken away the one thing i desired and loved the most, more than alcohol, more than sex more than anything at all. so i can safely say FUCK YOU MUM AND DAD.

move back to england where they aren't, get a bike and it'll be alright, oh and if your selling your kite surfing gear on the cheap, i'll have it! Laughing
i am sure that after a bit of time and you paying off the debt that they will let you ride again, just be on a smaller cheaper bike so you can't fuck up big time again!

why did you rent a cbr600rr? In a way its harsh but if i wrote my bike off i know my parents would be there for me but would help me buy another and dont mind,

i think if you given it on a plate you dont appriate it as much, i paid for all my biking stuff on part time jobs and as much as it sucked i love having a bike that i can say is all mine and was something to put all my money towards and not beer and random crap.

I think that although it sucks i might make you a stronger person. Dont hate them for it, my parents couldnt just shell out £2100 for in some ways your lucky Thumbs Up

WN, bollocks to england it's cold wet and miserable! and sorry mate i've already sold the kite gear. and they've said as long as i'm under their roof i'll never be allowed to ride again, so, my plan leave as soon as possible and get a job and buy my own bike Very Happy

Andy, i rented the CBR behind my parents back because they felt i wasn't ready to ride such a bike and refused to buy me even a 400.

and my parents weren't exactly prepared to pay the money either hence why i've got to pay them back

So your mum and dad told you not to get a bike because you couldn't handle it. You do it anyway and crash it. They bail you out and now your not happy with them? Thinking

Your parents are trying to teach you values mate, They sound like sensible people. Your the one that fucked up.

IMO their threat that you'll never ride again under their roof is just to give you a shake up. I dont reckon they'll hold you to that if you can take this like a man pay them back and show them your sorry.

Soz m8, looks like you shot yourself in the foot big time!

You said they even refused to let you have a 400...that sounds like they were not totally against the idea of a bike...unlike now.

As Ranger05 has been said above, the best you can do is take it on the chin and learn the lesson. If your parents see that you have possibly learned your lesson, they may relent; If they don't think you have, they wont.

True blue, no, they didn't let me get a bike because of the drivers out here, and my crash was to at 4 o clock in the morning which i guess proves i couldn't handle it.

Ranger, you're right my parents are indeed sensible people.

herbaldayz, the main thing i'm mad at, is not that my parents have punished me, i'm glad they have, but the fact that the punishment's so long and on going. something like grounding me for a month of two and taking away all my pocket money and me paying them back when i have a stable secure job seems fair.

dave yeh i did shoot myself in the foot, and then poured vinegar all over the shotgun wound. as for showing them i'm sorry, i've done nothing but obey them for the past week since they found out.

airpig, 17 and i didn't mean to come across as a spoilt little shit and i sleep in my own bed all the time Rolling Eyes

Chris at least you know that you have fooked up, i think that the only thing that you can do is over the next few month is show our rents how responsible you can be and then maybe discuss getting a 125 and taking advanced rider lessions so they know that you are acting in a way to improve your riding.
i think that you have a lot to prove to them before you are going to get back on a bike

i never said i could handle a 600...just that i could ride

WN the closest we've got to advanced rider lessons is the californian superbike school and they're completley against me doing that

airpig, here is dubai in the united arab emirates

Quacker boy

Its not the size of the bike, its the skill of the rider thats important.

Respect your parents and those giving advice, and the rest of you throwing abuse at him, help him don't flame him.

Do you have family you can live with here in the UK?

If so, move back and get a job. Paying a nominal board you should be able to save up the £2100 in a couple of months and pay back your parents. Keep saving up so you buy yourself a ratty bike, then go back to education, preferably with your parents support.

cheers lee, you talk about the skill of the rider that's important, and i agree it is, what made me think that i could handle a CBR was that i read an article in TWO i think it was that talked about dirt riding improve road riding skills so i thought i'd be ok.

nath, i'm in my last year of my OND at the moment so i plan to finish that, get a job out here, pay them off and live with my two best mates in a cheap flat or something and save up for my own bike (we're all riders)
