To my knowlage this hasnt been posted here before. I know myself that if i didnt make a habit of putting it on/taking it off EVERY time i get off the bike, i'd forget my disklock was on and drive away, despite the flourescant yellow sticker between my clock that reminds me. Personally i think this is a brilliant idea, but will probably be overpriced. The video is marketing of a removable footpeg for your bike (gear lever side) that doubles up as a disk lock! Ensuring that you cant ride away without it!

Hi,

I have Zena alarmed disc lock which goes off as soon as you move the bike.

I was using a Ulock through the wheel and got it stuck, I had to get the local bike shop to go free it off Embarassed

Regards

Rather strange, but this is the only place I can find that sells them online in the UK

https://www.intabikes.co.uk/shop.php?product_id=1200 For £52

There may be others but Googles not helping.

I just.... do it.

When I stop, the disclock goes on. When I get back to the bike, I take it off. Been like that since I started riding.

Force of habit = win.

Same here. It's a habit I've got into from the start and now I never forget.

Why not just spend 99p on an Oxford fluorescent reminder thingy that you put on your handlebar? You can't exactly miss it.

I forgot to remove the disk lock a couple of times in the early days. Always park front to the kerb / wall. That way you're paddling backwards when the lock hits the caliper, which is much easier to recover from!

There's nothing cool about gunning it for half a second, then clunk, drop, crunch!

Me too. But how are you supposed to use it? I bodged mine to fit around the disc lock and then attach it to the handlabar, but it certainly doesn't look like it's "made to measure" to fit around the disc lock (that key ring bit).

Well thats what I have done with mine. I leave the key ring bit on the U shaped bit of the lock, push the U shape bit through the disc and lock it, then pull the bungee bit up to the handlebar, so it's coming from behind the disc. Seems to work ok. Thumbs Up

When you buy a disklock, you get a pouch to keep it in (usually).

Keep the lock in that, and when you put it on, put your ignition keys (and lock keys, mine are on a seprate keyring) in the pouch Thumbs Up

Can't say I've ever rode off with mine attached, what I've said above seems to work for me.

To my knowledge I haven't left it on. It's really force of habit for me too, I always check to see if it's there, and my mind has saved me £52. Not a bad saving.

Alternatively I would use that bungee thing, if I had a brief stint of amnesia or something Thumbs Up

If you are paddling backwards on most sports bikes, the first thing it hits is your new, recently replaced from a previous accident, front mudguard Embarassed Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad , cracking said new front mudguard and making you swear loudly at the disclock.........

I discovered........ Wink

Ah. Mine isn't a U shaped Oxford disc lock, it's more like the one in this thread. Unfortunately the "key ring" bit is too small to go over the body of the lock, so I looped the cable itself around the body and then through the "key ring" affair.
