Don't know if they come on here but I'd just like to say a big thank you to the 2 guys who just helped me on the A59 put my chain back on Thumbs Up

Also a guy on a Honda offered to help but it was already fixed so again thank you.

Wierd thing is, I was only doing about 15 mph coming to a stop at the lights downshift and heard a clunk, thinking it was a stone or similar I just ignore it. Go to pull away from the lights and I don't move!

I'm just grateful I wasn't going any quicker as it may have been nasty...

Lesson for today is make sure you keep your chains well adjusted

Very Happy

No it just came off.

But I only had it adjusted just over a month ago so it shouldn't be getting loose that quickly should it?

depends on how you ride and how you adjusted it before really, and the type of chain, if its a cheapo it won't last as long.

best thing to do is give it a quick check before every ride or every other ride only takes 2seconds with your finger.

An ever easier/lazier way is to just use your foot.

Regardless of whether you should have spotted it before it happenned or not, isn't it nice that bikers will stop to help. Makes you feel all warm inside Smile

I stopped to help a car driver who had jus deposited his car in a ditch once, and he was amazed that a biker had stopped to offer help. Not a lot I could do apart from make sure he was OK, and offer use of my phone, but he was grateful, so it was worth it.

Yep, I give the chain a tap with my foot at least a few times a week. Then get down and dirty checking and lubing every week or so.

Anyone who only checks their chain once a month is obviously single!
It's a good excuse to go and hide in the garage for a while Wink
