Carrying a milkshake on your bike...

does anyone have a technique for holding a milkshake from mcdonalds whilst riding? In the car it's easy to sit it between your legs (with the added pleasure of a chilly willy) but not so easy on a bike. I don't think i'm quite poncy enough to fit a cup holder just yet (probably fall out of it anyway).

Maybe strap it to something inside the panniers? Bit relucatant to try that as it's going to make such a mess if it doesn't work.

In the summer when it's warm were up and down their pretty much every other day for large banana milkshakes, large cokes (nomatter how slow you speak 'not a diet coke please" they still give you diet, and mcflurrys

milkshakes I think should be alright in the panniers stuffed down the side of something but a large coke is gonna go everywhere?

I used to just stick it in a backpack, keep it upright as its pretty solid it doesn't spill as such.

I had a McD spill once many years ago. Borrowed my dads MiniMetro to pick up some big macs. I decided to put my milk shake on the tiny shelf (right hand side of the wheel just below the heater vent) as I thought it would melt it a bit quicker and prevent the McD painfull cheeks (due to frantic sucking on a block of iced milk) I pulled away a bit to aggresivly and the milk shake fell, now if I'd have left it everything would have beeen hunky dory as the lid was still on and it could'nt have possibly spilled to to consistency. No I decided to make a grab for it which left me crushing the container against the door and spraying the contence over me, the window, backseat, seatbelt etc.
That bloody car stank for months no matter how much I cleaned it must have seaped into everywhere...
Ride safe kids use a rucksack with plenty of wedging either side

depending on what bike you have i find that if you drink a quarter of it then wedge it between the tank and the screen brace it normally works

Generally get away with them sitting upright in the tank bag for a short journey (sometimes pop through the drive by McDonalds on the way back to work, only 1/2 mile away). Thick shakes are so solid that even if they do fall over they are not likely to leek.

ace, that rucksack one works perfect just tried it, you can position yourself upright on corners and take most of the shock out of the bike, hmmmmmm banana I stuffed the rucksack with tons of empty carrier bags and had the bag almost go over my head on the motorway with the wind and it was fine.

i always just get a paper bag with it & wrap it up then put in bag,rucksack,etc it DONT SPILL!

i put a milkshake in my pocket before , it held ok for a bit. then i stopped to drink it.

anyone found a way of carrying a domino's pizza without one of those tank bags

buy a freezer bag that does up air tightish, pous said milk shake in there, throw carton away and sick it in anywhere, down your kegs if your into the chilly willy thing,
then you can either drink it right out of the bag or transfer to a better beaker once at your destination,

or you could drink the fucking thing before, of buy a mc flurry , that will be dribbly by the time you get anywhere,

Holding the clutch in was not fun with drinks in your hand!!!

i tried carrying one in my left hand and still try to use 2 fingers for the clutch.

turned out it was impossible so i simply threw the Milkshake at Dom_ splatted beautifully all over his rs50

unzip jacekt,
insert milkshake between clevage and jacket, zip jacket back up...

also works for mc flurrys, coke, burgers etc etc

Those milkshakes can take some abuse! They're so thick they don't really spill, and the lids are pretty much airtight. Tell them not to put a straw in it, wrap it up in a plastic bag and put it wherever!

For things like Coke, a backpack with those stretchy mesh side pockets might do, again in a bag. You just don't want the lid to pop off halfway through the journey!
