After crashing my cbr600fy there is only one part left to find or repair before i can get back on the road, the radiator has a small crack in the top left of it(causing it to leak), can this be repaired if so how? and by who ? how much ?

It is possible it could be repaired using solder of some sort, but modern radiators are very thin.
I would have a go with something like lumiweld, prepare the surface well and use plenty. Ideally you would pressure test it after your repair to make sure it is going to 'hold water'. This will most likely either fail immediately or fix permanantly. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. wack an egg in the coolant, that has actually been proved and works fine, on cars that is, but in theory it should work fine in a bike as its pretty much the same type of system

The egg trick also perminently lowers the efficiency of the radiator too, especially (i'd imageine) on modern radiators..
If you canget at the leak easy rnought en i reckon solderings your best bet, you can get a rad rebuilt for £60 or so (depending) look on www.yell.co.uk and search "motorcycle radiator repair" in your area.. had one done and it took 1day, they picked it up and dropped it off within 20 hours ____________________ >RidingSkills<->Tech Tips<->MyBikes< |
