My bike riding aspirations include buying a Thundercat or similar in the short-term, and progressing to a litre sports tourer within 5 years. Along the way, I want to try out and hopefully own something tourer-trailley, like a Triumph Tiger. I also want to try out a full-on sports bike, but I don't see myself owning one unless I absolutely fall for it, because at 6'3" and not being a small git by any means, I don't consider it practical.
If I know me, I'll change my mind hundreds of times by the time I reach my target.
I like this post, but it seems to have fallen on it's head. |

A nice ducati would also be nice. ____________________ Current : 06 Zx10r, 07 Wr450f SM, 74 850 norton commando, 63 bsa b40, 1962 Triton 650, 67 Triumph Tr6r, 1955 Triton 750, 1978 TY250E. |

First off, there are plenty of grumpy cnuts here, young and old alike, so you should fit right in
For myself, I don't know what the future holds bike wise. However 2 things are obvious...
1: I like buying old used bikes and restoring them. I get a lot of satisfaction from that.
2: Of all the bike styles around I like naked sports bikes the most, and could certainly see myself on a bigger naked sports bike in a few years time. Although, I wouldn't say no to the right cruiser either.
One thing I have learnt is that my biking desires change with my age. When I was 18, I aspired to own a Fireblade, more than any other bike, yet 8 years later you find me riding round on a GN250 and GS500 I guess the older I get, the more dull (yet sensible) I become in my choices. As it happens, I bought the GS, because it was the bike I aspired to own above all others. How times change! ____________________ Dangerous traffic offences spotted on 50-minute trip: Lost count after 100. Number of traffic cops spotted: One, sitting by a speed-trap camera |

As a grumpy old cnut myself, my aspirations have finally come to a climax, as far as owning bikes is concerned, I have my Speed Triple and am currently building a hardtail chop, my dream, now the kids are at Uni (1 there 1 next year) would be to take the missus on a few holiday riding tours, start off in europe for the first couple of years, getting her used to the bike, then over to Canada and America, then hopefully one day she'll let me go on my own, ha as if

I want a stage 3 tuned and overbored RD350LC2 with RGV250 running gear, finished in Kenny Roberts Speedblock colours with someone elses numberplate on it.
As you may be able to tell from the above, I am a wee bit older than many too. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”

After my current CBR125R, I want to go up to a VFR 400 (NC35), then a R6 (or straight to a R6 if I can afford it), then to a R1.
I have always liked sports bikes and they will always be my first choice, but if I got the chance I would get a 600 Shadow as a second bike because I think they look hotter than satan's boll*cks and are one of those bike that are made to eat miles while saving you money on visits to the chiropractor and the butt doctor ____________________ If at first you don't succeed.....destroy all evidence that you tried.

not sure how old a "grumpy old cnut" is, or if I qualify at 32, but I've only passed my tst in '02 so am still relatively new to biking, even if I've been a wannabe since I was in school.
in terms of my biking aspirations, I'm pretty much where I want to be.
just aquired an FJR1300, which will do for most of my riding, and holidays, which are mainly done two-up. already have a Thunderace, which is 'ace' for going fast, and trackday fun; and I have a CB125 superdream which I'm tinkering with, to get back up to scratch. only thing I'd want to add is a trail bike of some sort, for some muddy offroad fun, but with all the new laws clamping down on offroad motor vehicle access, it's almost not worth the hassle.
