I dont really know much about NSR's, but is it possible to get the fairing's off and get a jack under the engine somewhere?

Paddock stand rear would work, but you'd need to use a jack under the engine to lift the front, or suspend it with straps from the ceiling to the headstock. A front paddock stand is no good as it holds the bike up by the forks.

I've never used a padock stand, but on bikes with center stands you can lean on the back of the bike and it will pivot on the stand, raising the front wheel.

If you can get somebody to help you, raise the front end with the weight all on the back and then stick some bricks under the engine (preferably with a piece of wood ontop to avoid damaging it).

when i needed to replace my nakered rear shock, i needed to prop the back of the bike up, and didnt have a jack, and if i left it on the paddock stand it would have just dropped, so i put some tie wraps around the front break leaver nice n tight, then covered my remainig fairing with a padded jacket, and used a "pogo" stick to prop the back end up whilst the bike was lent agains the garage door frame.

must have been the best bodge iv ever concocted Thumbs Up Mr. Green

Blimey, what jack have you seen for £200?

I've used centre stand (or rear paddock stand) with a bottle jack under the engine.

OK thanks for all the suggestions fellow biker dudes Razz Think I will go with the headstock stand . Not too expensive and looks a lot safer than propping the bike up on bricks or a jack that would crush my exhaust Razz Cheers all Thumbs Up

I had the same problem a few weeks back when i had to change the forks on the bandit. The way I did it was to lean the bike over really far and put a axle stand somewhere near the foot peg and then jack it up with a normal jack (about 30 quids no way near 200...) and then when it was level I put another axle stand on the jack side, made sure it wasn't going to fall over in any other direction and mission acomplished
O and if I had had some one to help would have been a million times easier Shocked
