Thumbs Up Wink

Another

Another...

And to those who think the sv is a girls bike, well this one certainly was... Laughing Embarassed Last one.

Played about on it on the way up from Lincoln, 33bhp is fine for just now, been there and done that so to speak with the quick bike thing...when I usually sit at 75mph anyway, theres not much point in having 120bhp. Thumbs Up Especially when one's restriction period isn't up till November the 16th.

They look a little front 'heavy' with a large fairing

I know what you mean, I don't think it pokes out too much on the front when it doesn't have the lowers on. Thumbs Up If the lowers pointed more towards the front wheel instead of curving backwards, it would look better. Laughing

Take those lowers off!! It will just rot under them as you won't be able to keep it clean.

P.S. Greg.... Am I to assume the title was for my benefit? Well it's a nice bike, but it's not as nice as my girl - pointy SV's rule Wink

Yup, just for you jimmy. Wink

Yeah the lowers won't stay on for TOO long, thankfully the exhaust system is looking like new, it was a new original system they had and sent to renegade to modify into the 2-1-2 system that it is now. As I know the front downpipe rusts incredibly quickly.

Well I'm glad you've seen sense and bought a bike that CAN teach you a lot more. Face it, if all you want from bikes is acceleration you will soon get bored as you will quickly progress up to the 1ltr category....( which you did Wink ) and then what - pub talk's all thats left to make you feel good as you are on a bike that will go around bends like it's on rails... you just point it and it goes - wheres the fun in that??.

If however you buy a bike that actually requires a bit of skill to make it perform well then your skills will progress. I'm forever playing catch-up on my SV, but who's got the biggest grin on their face after Thumbs Up

Aye exactly mate, the storm and yzf were great for bloody scaring the crap out of me but could tell I wasn't really learning anything.

The sv is staying 33bhp for a good while so I can learn to utilise the power well and then perhaps look at taking the washers out. Thumbs Up 33bhp on this thing is actually pretty damn quick! I'm pleasantly surprised.

Does the link pipe going up to the can get in the way of your heels? I like to ride with my toes on the pegs and it just seems to me that a high level like that would stop you moving your feet back?

Looks are subjective - besides who cares? You can't fault the SV's for anything else, especially for the price.

They look better from the rear - the skinniness is a bonus there:

https://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a129/extreme3d51/SV650sK5010.jpg

Must get round to replacing those rear pegs with a can hanger.....
