Currently im in the middle of rebuilding my bike after the skidmarx fairings i had fitted earlier this year decided to rip themselves apart...... Turns out the garage who fitted them didint have any instructions so the entire headlight fairing was held on by ...... 1 bolt
that bolt snapped surprise surprise the resulting weight on the side fairings split them but luckily my crash mushrooms held the weight of the front end until i could park up...
Ive now got a full refund and bought new side panels but not a bellypan, Im tempted to not bother with the belly pan because i like the sight of the engine and the side panels cover all the wiring. I will have the healight fairing and side panels finished in smokey joe colours.
The point of this post however is that ive been offered a pair of mv aguste front brake calipers, would i be able to fit them to my rvf and would it result in an improvement in braking performance... ?

Just how cheap are the calipers? ...and is there anything actually wrong with your current ones?
I doubt that many people here could give you a definately answer, but the easiest way to check is to just physically compare the 2 calipers (or at least have a clear picture of them) and check the mounting points, their alignment with the discs etc.
As for a belly pan, I'm just in the process of fixing up my crashed bits, and the belly pan survived quite well (all lugs intact etc) but just a bit cosmetically challenged (which will be fixed and primed etc), interested? But from my experience, original fairing panels don't seem to go well with aftermarket stuff. ____________________ TiN

I've tried fitting my (ex) zx6 calipers to the zx9... they're exactly the same, but din't quite fit
So be very sure they will.
TBH braided hoses (IF you don't have 'em) and a fluid change will probably give you plenty enough power . |

Bah, why bother with brakes, they only slow you down
The thing is though, why do you need extra braking power? Six pots aren't automatically *that* much better that 4-pots, unless you have radial calipers, so you probably won't notice much difference. The Fireblade and R1 still have 4-pots.
Also, the more powerful your brakes are, the quicker you'll eat through pads and discs...and front tyres ____________________ TiN
