You need a car theory for cars and a seperate one for bikes. Not one for both. |

Same here...
Passed my Car licence about 15 years ago (so has pretty much every entitlement under the sun on it bar M-bike and full HGV, and I can tow a caravan...) but I had to sit theory, hazard perception and Practical for the bike. The funny thing is that I could've jumped straight onto a scooter with no L-plates and no CBT as my licence had full licnece for mopeds on it, even though I had never been near one in my life..
Now, with the bike entitlement, it's running out of space on the back.. . Might go for the HGV just to get the full set...

I have never taken my car test. I now wish to get a full car licence and no one can give me a definate answer whether i need to take another theory test before i take my practical test in a car. |
Yes you do, sorry to bear bad news.
Who needs to take a test?
| DSA wrote: | UK licence holders
You will need to take a theory test if you want a licence for a new category of vehicle, for example, if you have a car licence and you want a motorcycle licence you will need to take a theory test.
If, however, you want to upgrade within a vehicle category you will not normally need to take a theory test, for example, if you have a full automatic car licence and you want a manual car licence you will not have to take a theory test. |

I've been driving for some years, but before doing my DAS last year I still had to retake the theory and hazard perception tests
