indicated 100 so about 90-95 ish i reacon real speed, RS has slightly more power but not much in it as all really.

depends of what you want the bike for, if it for fun and turning 17 then yea proabably

if you want it for commuting, little journeys, i wouldnt i made that mistake but learnt to live with it, was stil fun just annoying warming it up.

You need to say what your situation/purpose of bike is before anyone can say if its right for you or not Thumbs Up

Personally, no, I don't think it is. A cheap mid-90s one maybe, but I wanted to get onto bigger bikes as soon as I passed my test, which took 6 weeks to build the confidence for.

I can see the appeal more so now, as a weekend fun bike and can understand why people love stroker 125s so much, they just weren't for me back then.

There seems to be two 125's that everyone has on here, the NSR and the CBR. the NSR's are faster and people jut tend to take the piss if you have a CBR.

I would have thought derestricted you can expect 95ish MPH on a good day. Thumbs Up

No offence mate, but i think your a cunt.

This realy isnt the way to go about things.

You ask a question, then you listen to the answers.

And to be honest mate, i duno about anyone else - but im sick of hearing 17 year olds wanting the net 200mph 2 smoke for £50.

Its a 125 - it will do ~85/87mph at a push when restricted, ~105 with them out. Thats Real speeds, not indicated. Good enough for you? Or is it still "too slow?".

IMHO - I think if you get one of these things with daddy's money, then it will be fast enough to scare the living daylights out of you, and you will probably be crying every time you get off it. You wont be able to handle it, and you will probably be posting for new fairings around here pretty soon.

Maybe im being a bit harsh, but then maybe you shouldnt come accross as such as self obsorbed, over spoilt little child.

Thumbs Up

I saw 100mph once down a big hill, derestricted (2000 model NSR). My piston rings are going though.

I'd say on a mint engine 100-105 isn't too unrealistic Thumbs Up

You found the specs quite easily, so why bother asking in the first place?

Not many people have access to a long straight flat road and a speed gun, so all top speeds would usually be those indicated by often optimistic speedos. Rider weight/race crouch ability might come into play as well, hence the variance in responses. A standard NSR topping 110mph sounds very optimistic.

considering the clocks on my 2002 model stop at 110, i am presuming actual speed is around 98-103 ish.

I have a 2002 NSR125 (currently on ebay search: NSR multi coloured)
Back in summer had an inidcated 104mph down hill with wind behind me tucked down on tank.

I suspect around 95mph.

No.

Whats the point? Use the "SearcH" function, theres loads about the RS on here. Failing that, go to google.

I for one cant be arsed to help you any more, just seem like another jumped up teenager with daddy's money to me. You wanna go fast? Go on holiday somewhere and go on a plane. Thats speed.

I cant understand why ppl get so upset about a what bike thread.

my advice is get some test rides done when u are old enough

try rs125, nsr125 and dt125

try them in town and on country roads.

see which you like best

Basically because they are all the same.

I get enough scrotes coming up to me in the colege bike sheds, only caring about how fast it goes - and what cars it can beat. Its not what biking is about to me. I dont feel happy knowing there are people like that riding next to me. Maybe its just because i come from racing where you need to trust the guy next to you... i duno.

Its not just that though, its also about the fact that half of these kids will never even get a bike, or at least not the bike they mentioned. Most will simply either opt for a ped, or just decide to go for a car because they are faster, and the ones that do get a bike like that dont respect it, and end up under a tree a few weeks later.

Going by this guys attitude with his posts, he definately comes across as one of the guys who will probably end up getting a car. He will almost definately not get an RS125 2006 model as he has just started to suggest.

I dont mind people asking serious questions about things that matter - you know, like what they handle like, brakes, luggage capabilities, if they are good for commuting, and if they will keep up with traffic safely. Not - "OH FFS I WANNA KNOW HOW FAST THIS BIKE GOES COS I WANNA RACE MY BEST MATES STOLEN IMPREZZA TO 150MPH IN 30 LIMITS!!!!!!!!!!".
