Bit of a buzz isnt it, I got a GPZ 500s last June albeit restricted which was good but last November got myself a ZX6R that put a smile on my face I can tell you...also a little brown stain in my pants but what the heck. Congrats on your first big bike, happy and safe riding ____________________ Ride with the music! |

Welcome
The first big bike I rode was an ER-5 as well. I can remember the first time I opened the throttle wide, I thought it was a bloody rocket.
Enjoy the site and ride safe

Hello mate, congrats on passing your test and glad your enjoying your biking.
I have only got a CBT license, so im a bit naughty in as much Ride de-restricted RS125 no L plates etc and all the blacked out visors and all other types of exciting things which make it all the more fun not to mention the times i have took my mates big bikes out for a spin.
First bike i took out was a Honda Hornet 600 now that was awesome, second was a Bandit 600 (I did favour the hornet) then a Thundercat (By gawd I loved that bike) and most recently a brand spanking new Kawasaki 636!!!
I absolutely loved it, took it for about a 30 mile round trip, handled ace and was so so so so so so so so so so fast!! It looked the business, underseat race can, custom lights with the indicators built in to the brake system, tail tidy - the absolute works! I still dream of the day i can get my own, but until then just close my eyes and think of the 146 on the clock and pulling my first ever wheely (Albeit accidently) |

was reading the post about car drivers and how thay are always pushimg him at the lights. personally i filtered to a gap at the lights but i understand now why bikers go to the front . also i hope i get no more cars overtaking me when im doing 35-40 in a 40 uphill. i get the feeling i could do 30 now and they would stay right where they belong. hoping they try it again. at least i always had the decency to stay behind bikers even if they were on 50cc scoots. |

I bought my first big bike last week, a Suzuki gsf600 sx and I love it. Its so smooth and pulls away so quickly. I just can't wait until the weather gets better ____________________ [Rides: Suzuki GSF600sx]

The only big bike I have ridden so far is the training school's ER5's.
And I loved it!
It may not be fast by bike standards, but it certainly feels good to me. It's a completely different feeling from driving a car. I can't believe I have missed out all these years when I could have been on a bike
I can't wait til I pass my test so I can take my GPZ500S out
I have heard people say that you can get bored of "first bike" type bikes (like the GPZ500S!) quite quickly after you pass your test. ____________________ Suzuki SV650S K5

Gemma I know what you mean about getting bored as thats what everyone said to me. But at the end of the day these bikes will sell easily so you can upgrade to a bigger bike at a later date.
I trained on a gs500 and that was good fun ____________________ [Rides: Suzuki GSF600sx]

Yea the ER5 is a great bike no doubt about it. Love the smooth power spread it has. Handles superbly as well. As for getting bored with it quickly, you've just gotta be imaginative. Until you can thrash the bollocks off it through every corner you wont be bored Bikes that handle well are always fun to ride. ____________________ Cagiva Mito 125 (sold)

I went from a donkey 110cc (four stroke) to my 400 bandit and whoar, the difference. The rush you get from it is awsome. The second it hit the 8000 rpm it just seemed to take off
I can't stress enough to my friends on L-plates how worth while it is doing your test.

Congratulations on the test pass!
When I passed, I had a gpz550 for a couple of weeks till I killed it (through neglect & abuse). Went up to the local bike dealers intent on getting another bike, ended up test riding a Hayabusa.
I remember pulling out of the dealership and heading through an industrial estate very carefully aware that I was on a fairly powerful bike.
Got onto a clear duel carriageway, I've never seen a speedo climb so fast in my life! My mate following me reckons he heard me scream as I cracked the throttle open to full.
Bought the bike later that day. |
